Just back from an excellent day at CC.

Damp following heavy overnight rain up til about 10:00, then dry through to about 14:00 and another heavy shower, then dry from about 15:15 on.

Good to see a few prillys on track - my 06 RSVR-F, an 05 RSVR, a couple of Milles and a Tuono. Anyone from here?

I've seldom had chance to enjoy the sweet sound of the RSV motor from track-side until today. What a truly beautiful and distinctive rasp - so much different from the V90 brigade!

Sounds like a good one Mr BRG, and very nice pics too :D

Is it the last one at Castle Coombe in a couple of weeks do you know? I am tempted to return I must admit.

Pleased to hear the weather mostly held out for the day :thumbup

Sounds like a good dya BRG, i take it that stands for British Racing Green:dunno as in the colour scheme of the bike, it looks kinda retro in those colours:thumbup

Caterpillar - The CC website posts a trackday calendar (page currently down) http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/ -> Track Days -> Book Now. Other than that, I believe Morotcycle Folly (http://www.motorcyclefolly.co.uk/) are running one on 2008/09/15.

Badger - Yes, British Racing Green - it comes from 3rd-party observations on my colour preference. You may be able to spot a trend here (though what the first one was all about - goodness knows!)

Dunno whether 'retro' is a compliment or not:) but I have a deep-seated dislike of logos - even to the point where I'll happily parry people asking "What kind of bike is that?", as if the 'aprilia' name cast into the clutch cover, the swinging arm and the headstock aren't obvious!

AusRSV - This was the first time I double-booked (i.e. two sessions back-to-back). Due to noise constraints (a stroppy citizen in the village of the same name) they're limited to 12 bikes per group, so they normally run 6 groups per session (i.e. ca. 9 mins/group). Today we had 5 groups, which made things a bit better, but groups are mixed ability, so there's usually a fair bit of inexperienced traffic. I believe Motorcycle Folly run 4 experience-rated groups for theirs.

Session 1 - wet track - didn't go out
Session 2 - Groups 4 & 5
Session 3 - Groups 3 & 4
Session 4 - Groups 1 & 2
Lunch
Session 5 - wet track - didn't go out
Session 6 - Groups 1 & 2
Session 6 - Group 5/open track

I ride Metzeler Racetec K1 (soft) front and K2 (med) rear, which I'm entirely satisfied with (they're the same as Diablo Supercorsas and a bit cheaper!) I run them at 2.1barF, 1.9barR, as per manufacturer's recommendation . (I also have a pair of Diablo Rain, but since it takes me and Mrs BRG 20-30 minutes to change over, it's sometimes better to sit out a shower!)
