Back with skinned knuckles and a full swear jar later :nana

i say mate..is that a set of 57s there i spy ? :thumbup bayudies!

54's there Aus, whats 3mm between friends :devious Came with the short machined alloy stacks, and all for a bargain £150 :biggrin right, tea and tools in hand!

lol,i was just gunna ask how much difference will they make?
seems a bargain cat mate.

I know the 57mms on mine made a big diffence ..to the tune of 4.5bhp(everywhere) and 3ft-lbs torque.(custom map-all the other mods done) and you can now suck animals out of heges as you ride along!

I will be intereseted on yer findings matey RE: the 520 set up, I've noticed an improvement on other bikes, not tried it on the mille yet!
cheers Ck
Yearh well mate, after much reading and doing the numbers, it certainly stacks up in the right direction. 520 is way strong enough tensile wise..it is far lighter than the 525/530s..less mass means quicker rotation response...and with 16/44 as recognised as the best power producing combination gearing..i think it may add a little to the buzz factor. Be interesting to see how long the alloy rear sprocket lasts. :thumbup

if its a renthal sprock mate you will be chunking teeth before the chain has worn out!!. All good fun tho, you will deffo feel it spinning up quicker.

Vortex alloy rear...they rekon they hold up ok, but we'll see i guess. :thumbup

Airbox on airbox off airbox on airbox off airbox on airbox off airbox on airbox off.....and repeat with additional f*&ks, sh!t and b*ll*cks thrown in for good measure until droplets of blood have appeared over the frame :thumbup

Right, got enough in the swear jar for another set now after that little episode :biggrin Finally seems to be settled for tick over, although still a little high but we'll see what happens during and after a ride out. Pics and an update on "did it make a difference mister" soon :pirate

Aus, nice deal on the chain and sprocket conversion, be interesting to hear what "feel" difference it brings about :thumbup

yayyy, always luv some goodpiccys and a stirling "how to" guide mr.cat.
hope them hands arent to raw buddy.

chain and sprockets look a good deal aus mate, its the 15t front for me next, need all the help i can get with my girth, its like the incredible hulk on a mini moto ffs.even the 16t wont help my frame do a ower wheely ffs.
think ill have to have a 4t front and 96t rear or sumat!

:lol i feel for ya big fella, im a bit on the tall side myself but i already learnt the trick to power wheelies :doug its all about body position, if you lean over the bike alot all your weight is front and keeps the front down (good if you want to go fast) but if you were to lean back... not too much.. less weight is over the front and it should lift easier, whatever u do dont lean back far and crack th throttle open or you will flip

i like the velocity stacks on those throttle bodies and you can be sure of a nice improvement :thumbup i considered getting some different velocity stacks but i read somewhere if you have an open airbox (well.. modified..) they dont really have much effect??

yeah,i do tend to sit with me nuts squashed up against the tank.
its no problem off the clutch with the mono's.
cant blame the bike,on a negative point, she has to haul my 21 stone about poor bike,on a plus point,i can seriouslychuck it about and man handle it like its a 125 lol.
oh to be 5'7 and 8 stone ffs!

Ok, well, it certainly has made a difference across the range and it is far more eager to rev out and loft on the power now than before. So all good :thumbup with the exception that i'm struggling to get an even tickover, but the throttle response is smooth :confused

Anyway, some pictures :pirate

All in all it took about 4 hours with the inbetween swearing sessions, the inevitable stubborn nut/screw/pipe, enough tea to fill the tank, oh, and not forgetting the real treat, getting covered in fuel! Tip for the day, don't forget you filled your tank the night before :doh:doh:doh

All good fun in the sun! :doug

great work buddy, your well impressed with the results then mate.
bit strange with the uneven tickover, what could that be then matey?

Not sure on the tickover, it could be a number of things I think squire. It is fine to ride, but tickover is a little high and a little uneven. Temperature is running consistently with how it was before so no problems there. Had the tank and airbox off again earlier just to recheck everything and all seems ok. I'm sorting some dyno time for it shortly at Dynomite so hopefully an answer will appear then. In the meantime, power wheelies are the order of the afternoon :)

uneven idling from what i have heard is a choice of couple of things

1, The way the bodies were reprofiled if not o.e 54's
2, the chip you run
3, throttle boddies out of synch
