Just done a trackday at Brands ( tuesday ) with 4 mates and all was well , sunny n dry , dry tarmac , tyres at track pressures etc etc , normally allow 3 laps to get the temps up in the tyres but oh no , he had a brain fart and thought lets go for it after 1 lap ..... paddock hill bend , cold tyres .... you know wots coming !!!!!

Think the bikes a right off but luckily he got away with a sore ankle , the photographer there got a couple of great shots of him just as he tucked the front , when he asked the guy if he had any more he said .... **** no cause i was running away after those photos !!!

Will hopfully have some on board footage of the T going round , once my mate sorts it out and sends me the video i will post it up on here so you can see how slow a T can get round Brands ! http://s1221.photobucket.com/albums/dd463/shotgunn1/trackday/

Ouch mucker, glad yer mates not to banged up.

Think the bikes a right off ..

yr think.. bugger, glad he,s not badly injured.

Oh yeh , cracked engine casing as well as the obvious damage , frame looks ok but its still a right off , it clipped the kerb and top and tailed into the gravel in proper style , my mate was right behind him and it scared the crap outta him !

Lets just say he was lucky and gonna be sore for the next day or so , cheers .

Agree with you mate , i hate bridgestones full stop . if he had let them get hot then he would of got away with it , but not cold !

Well that needs more than a lick of paint, glad your matey boy walked away though.

I suppose thats what track days are for, better of ditching it there than on any road

Ouch, sorry to hear about your mate Sean, but as you say "WARM YOUR TYRES PROPERLY"
Main thing is he's ok....

It may be written off in insurance terms, but most of the damage looks superficial
Buy new glass fairing and seat, ditch the lights and with a little work he'll have a great track bike, else put it back on the road.
My 2p worth....

Shotgun, Your mate has my full sympathies, I did a very similar thing with a GSXR750 and got £900 scrap for it. I then spent another 4 years paying off the finance with no bike....... F*cking gutting!

P.s Im doing a track day in June on my 03 Tuono and need to get new tyres any recommendations for trackdays?

For trackdays and fast road would suggest metzeler racetecs K3 compound or pirelli daiablo rosso corsas both nice and sticky.

The dreaded 014s, had them on ma blade. Chicken strips, mair like bingo wings min, ah had nae confidence ataw in them

Bridgestones have a tendency to let go with no warning (Don't ask me how i know).

But it's not only me.

Same happened to a mate recently as well and both of us were on BT016's.

Not good, but at least ya mate is ok.

Am after a cheap track day bike myself. If gets offered at scrap value, drop me a PM dude.
