FFS!!! New tyre lowside........

But not quite as smart as it was :thumbdown

Bought some wet and dry paper to sand the side of the rad down before I paint it with some matt black model paint, going to polish out as much of the scratches on the can / link pipe as I can, new gear lever on order, will buy a new bar end, got to live with the scuffed CRG clutch lever, and scuffed plastics are only really noticeable close up.

Guess I was quite lucky in the circumstances.

Imo it's not the best time of year fir new hoops, cold surface, cold air, cold tyres and the road surface is full of grit and ****.

I wis in ma shed the other day and ran ma fingers over the rear tyre, the chicken strips were as slippery as a bar of wet soap.

exactly !!! not a good time fer new hoops.. but ffs, this is owd school stuff aint it !

on the road i can spend 3 hrs scrubbin in new rubber, even in good temps, ABSOLUTLY NO THROTTLE on bends, just rollin em round nice an easy, gently on the gas an temptin the angle..

just a question of takin yer time, and certainly not when the road temps are like 3c..

I figger if I hammer it through a couple of corners I'll wear off the slick **** a little quicker.

if , by chance i buy a fresh bike in the next few weeks and bin it on new hoops...

please disregard that last statement...

Were they decent types up there today, sometimes take the wife and kids in the car and on the odd ocassion its a bunch of foul mouthed idiots, most of the time its great.

You are absolutely correct - last time I dropped in with me daughter on the back the inside bit was full of foul mouthed peasants. Hey ... we all swear ... but not infront of women and kids ffs!

All decent today and a huge variety of metal for all to see.

Some Harleys

Some track day heros

Some nails

Funny thing ... a big fat old fella on a nail and wearing a vizzy vest ... pulled a half decent wheelie on exit!

Not so funny was when I pulled out heading towards Kiddy with my learner mate on his RS 125 behind ... a couple of kids on 125 Ls who had ben ripping up and down like dicks raced after us ... with no more than 30 feet between them. First overtook my mate on a blind RH bend ... only just missed oncoming car. Second one followed but couldn't quite make the pass so swerved violently into edge and stopped ... almost taking my mate out in the process.

I should really have turned round and tried to educate them but I think all I would have got would have been a load of abuse.

Never mind ... it was a good blast round and the first sunny day of the year when I've really grinned.

How was your kids party?
