Music selection has a lot to do with how fast I am traveling. Get ear buds as they are the most comfortable and make sure they have a volume adjuster. Often I just use ear plugs and listen to the music Andiamo makes...

Back in the day when I had a little 600 naked bandit, I used Koss ear plugs for the long journeys (seal out noise and therefore deliver music at a safer level). My T is a bit louder, so can't hear jack sh## above the exhaust. I wear ear plugs now to stop from getting tinnitus (or is that tinny ****...). No music for me except for the growl and bark of the titanuim can.

Anyway, just make sure the plod doens't catch you or they will eat you for breakfast (something about being able to hear what is going on around for safety blah blah).

G'day Johny, 1 of my mates' only form of transport is his m/cycle. He has put a set of earplug/ speakers in the lining of his helmet. Except for the odd time forgetting to unplug himself he's had no problems. I'm about to do the same myself, when I workout how to drive my ipod.Since I've now fitted a set of re-cored cans.:thumbup If Plod has a winge, :dunno pointout that tintops have got stereo systems installed then?
:cheers Perry

Aye, if ya have the dosh, shell out for a pair of Shure earbuds. Them is what the musicions use on stage for in-ear-monitoring (and block out a LOT of background noise). Great for plane trips too - better than those noise cancellers (which are great by the way).

It is amazing how much you can turn the level down when you don't have to overpower the engine and wind noise, which is all good for your hearing in the long run. I commute on my T and with the race can, if I forget my earplugs (or go without for a bit of fun) my ears are ringin afterwards. Anything that sticks INTO your ears and blocks out noise (not your ordinary bud iPod type headphones) will do you good.

I am not in favour of them as i Guess it would interfere with what I`m doing (riding my bike).
My son has the i pod and he seems happy.
I don`t have anything so I may be biased ? I just like to listen for anything untowards.
In the car it`s a different kettle of fish but not loud.

information appr lads, ive ordered a sony mp3 player last night on ebay so ill maybe try out those Shure earbuds if i can find where to get em(if im not happy with what comes home)

cheers johny:cheers

i use a starcom intercom (not to hear the mrs winge) i have my tunes and my satnav wired into it,,,,speakers fit in your lid,,,works just fine except at silly speeds wind noise can be an issue but the benifit over headphones is there is no issue with plod getting grumpy,,,,also having both satnav and tunes through intercom when satnav speaks tunes get muted,,,ive used it on my past 3 bikes and works a treat but i think the autocom sysem is a bit better but more pennys

I've used an ipod before when I had a sanitised 954 blade. Only used it when on long runs as opposed to spirited twisties as it does distract a bit.
Ebay sell the plugs, but are a tad pricey

Liz & I have bike to bike comm's so we have tried most forms of speakers etc.

The ONLY ones that work worth a damn are in-ear monitors by Ultimate Ear

These are custom moulded in ear plugs, that can be worn for long stretches.
They don't interfere with your hearing as you can set the musuc/comms/satnav volume very low, and still hear traffic etc. They act as earplugs as well so protect your hearing.

I have a Garmin Zumo for music/navigation & Liz uses an iPod Nano, which works well on a bike.

Stock iPod speakers might be OK but they hurt after awhile.

FYI I wear a pair of their earplugs for trackdays and hooning, but use the monitors for more sensibly paced riding when I need comms etc.
