mines a bit crap in the damp/wet too. Once running its fine but I only get two attempts to start it in the damp or rain.
If I knock the quick idle back too far and it stall or forget the sidestand I only get one more chance to start it otherwise it doesn't have enough juice in the battery to get it going.

Its kept on an optimate, has a 14a batt and i've removed the alarm.
Its better on a warm dry day.

I've gotta say I hate the will it won't it start feeling I get every day

Hmmmmm - sounds like a knackered 14 amp battery especailly as it is so ambient temperature sensitive (here in the mountains we get to know a lot about knackered batteries in the cold and damp symptoms)......

optimate can only maintain what the battery is capable of doing........

sounds like yours can't do very much if after one attempt at starting the battery gives up :cry
