The stalling at lights is probably the throttle bodies needing a resync and CO2 reset. Common fault on 2003.5 onwards RSVR's and shoud have been set up correctly by the dealer when MAP2 was enabled.

Just a note on what spoonz has said. My 2002 RSV Mille R suddenly starting making one hell of a racket on start up, i instantly thought sprag clutch but wasn't convinced it was this as it continued on tickover and when the bike was revved. It tuned out to be as faulty spark plug, causing the bike to misfire and intermitantly run on one cylinder. It certainly does sound like the engine is about to lunch itself

Stick with it, these bikes are very reliable once you've sorted one or two common faults.

Keeping them on Optimate battery conditioners is a must for correct starting or sprag clutches will fail eventually. Follow Spoonz's advice and i'm sure you sort these problems

Good luck fella

true mate, mine was acting like that, but i knew shes was going for a full health check and service,as id just bought it and dont trust ewt till its had a thorough once over.
turned out 3 plugs had been changed, but the awkward one at the front had never been changed since the bike was new,and was nackered and rusted o fook.she runs perfectly now,as said, theres always a few niggles to iron out, then as said above, theyre a fantastic bike.im getting to the end of mine now,had wrong oil in it,way to over filled with oil as well, air filter was fukd, nakerd plug, leaking clutch master cylinder due to wrong bolts in it,causing the clutch to constantly fill with air and stop it working, fukd race can with nakerd baffles and faulty neutral light that stayed on all the time.im hoping thats about it,as shes fst as *** now and running totaly spot on,she even goes into neutral 1st go now.
i wouldnt swap her for any other bike, and thats the truth.
hang in there mate, its all worth it in the end.

i've also got a leaking clutch slave cylinder, so new seals there

the list goes on and on and on lol

lol, yeah,i thought it was my seal, but took it out and nothing.
the three bolts that hold it on,one of them was about an inch to long and wasnt sealing it,causing the leak.took 30mins just to bleed all the air out of it.
its all down to what ******** has owned the bike before you.
alot of them just down research their bikes and what quirks they have ect.
even before i got mine,i already researched and knew it needed semi synthetic oil,and that you check the level when its hot not cold and the worst thing you can do i over fill it.
pity the last owner hadnt done his homework.toss pot.

my feeling exactly

if only the tosser before me had told me the truth, i could of saved myself a fortune and bougt somet else lol....

hopefully by tuesday this will all be over and she'll be running sweet

go on then tell me how i know if its the seal?

whats the best way to drain the slave cylinder?
do i drain all the clutch fluid out then pull apart, check seal and bolts?

what length should the bolts be?

any other signs to look for?

cheers mate
