Sorry i threatened to leave... i was obviously ill and you should pitty me!!! :devious

So i want some advice on pimping up my 03 RSVR, im sure you've all seen it, plans are to stealth it out a bit... im blacking out the grills and getting a carbon can, planning on some black levers and powder coating the peg hangers with some carbon heel plates (your getting the point im sure) im also thinking of powder coating my lovely OZ wheels black! Anyone seen this done or fancy doing a Photoshop??? ok they look good gold but i think some more black would be pretty sweet!

Any other suggestions welcome, im gonna get an open airbox and aim for a dyno set up at some point to make the most of the fuelling with a PCIII and will be spending some time setting up my suspension.

Anything else to do?!

hey WT - I'm going to get my Oz wheels powder coated gold - how bouts I get them done black and we split the cost and you take the black ones and I'll take the gold ones (saves both of us pc'ing the wheels ?!?) food for thought?

danglee :thumbup

Change your gearing, 16/44 if you want to replace the chain as you'll need a 110 link though Sprocker has managed it with the standard 108 link, or 15/42 with the standard length chain. It is the best mod with the biggest gains.

Sounds a pretty cool idea but I reckon you should leave the wheels gold as black bodywork with gold wheels (and gold forks) looks fantastic on pretty much anything IMO.

Hmmmmmmmm im not a gold fan... especially when the wheels, forks and calipers are all different shades of the stuff, just looks ****!!!

Ah yes, that is a good point. I couldn't really afford a Factory in truth but I did think the 3 shades of "Gold" (read Gold, caramel, and burnt fudge) was really clumsy for a manufacturer that generally seems to have pretty good attention to detail. Didn't totally put me off, (the price did that) but REALLY didn't help!

Surely your wheels are the same colour aren't they, but I guess the forks and calipers aren't and which would you spray/powder coat...the wheels...doh. I apologise for my clearly rubbish suggestion! :thumbup

However in my defence I live next to a Yamaha dealer and I saw a new black and gold R1 and R6 fresh out of the crate and they looked gorgeous! Although all the "gold" on the Yamaha is the same colour so that may have had something to do with it. :biggrin

they are all 3 different!!!

Totally lame

Yer it's weird. The frame, forks and wheels are different interpretations of "gold." I'm in no way taking the piss or trying to offend any Factory owners but I did think it was kind of odd, but it wouldn't have mattered if they did all match as I still couldn't afford it so it wasn't a deal braker for me. Just a shame that a really cool and otherwise stylish bike is comprimised by what can only be lazyness or a silly oversight on Aprilia's part.
