sidestand problems

I wonder if Honda Quality control are investigating why they are selling so many side stands
 
Picked my fireblade stand up today, had it fitted in 10mins. So much better than the original! Just need to pack it out slightly as it touches the exhaust. some people have said its because of bad alignment of exhausts but as it only touches the main section of exhaust I'd say its more to do with the difference in top part of the side stand itself as mine is only about 1.5mm not wide enough.
 
Just been to moto strada in shipley , hundred and twentyfive quid for the american stand from aprilia,

seem a lot but really its cheap when you compare the cost of the stand to the cost of the broken indicators,broken clutch/brake lever cracked fairing dented/scratched can and your best mates tank on his bike when the falling t mullers it on the way down..........simples
 
I've just bought a second hand American side-stand from Fleabay. Was a reasonable price but got shafted on delivery and import charges! But the current stand makes me nervous, especially as I might be lowering the bike a bit.
 
I've just fitted a Blackbird stand on to mine, all it needs is a hole drilling for the pin on the switch.

My repair bill (parts only) came to over £600 when mine got blown over.
My biggest regret was that I din't heed the warnings (nearly toppled over in shed because of a flat tyre etc) until it was too late.
 
Aye mucker,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,on a a cbr 1100 blackbird.
 
j, I read that they'll do the job but require a hole to be drilled.
