I'm legal again!!!. MoT done, needed a new Michelin 2CT on the front, new wheel bearings. Had brakes bled. Picking up a batch of Putoline and an oil filter at the weekend plus a set of plugs and I'll do a bit of a service on her.

So at long last, I'm ready for the next run out. YaY!!!!! \o/ :thumbup

good stuff rsv about time. you oot on the next ride oot mate ?:thumbup whenever that is ..need to wait till bryan sorts the next one out lol.i got mot today needed nout :) new speedo ordered £64 ouch :jack.all i need to do is fit my leo-v back on and im sorted ..hey bryan did you get your speedo fixed ? is it still stuck at 165mph ?
lol bad boy:biggrin

biff where did you get speedo from need one for mine have you got a link to a website..

Yes biff, I'll be well up for the next run oot. :thumbup

Speedo problems you say?. Was the £64 for a new speedo sensor?. My speedo is still going bonkers, registering silly speeds even at a standstill. And that is with a brand new speedo sensor as well so I've no idea what is fecked on it. :dunno

Was sitting thinking about the next ride oot:deviousand i was thinkin that if you take the whole day into it with petrol and food and stuff you dont get much change from £50 soooo how do you guys feel abooot a saturday track morning up at knockhill for £65 in the novice group of course, i'll sort oot some pack lunches and coffees and take some petrol up in ma van wi all the bits and bobs so what do you think of that cmon its safer than flying round the countyside wi the police:thumbup:biggrin

I might even take some bikes up two in the van and two in the trailer cany say fairer than that and Biff i'll even come and pick you up.....

M8 the way you and your pal were riding it'll be rite up your street ,youd be suprised take it easy and it'll teach you alot about your bike and lets face it its way safer than the bloody roads noone coming the other way for a start + the people in the novice group are that and it gives you time to learn the track.....cmon you know you want to.....i reckon the more i get i might be able to swing a money off deal.......

I'm up for the next road run out, not keen on track days though. I just wouldn't trust myself to not bin it into the kitty litter. :biggrin

Gary m8 safest place to get above the speed limit on your bike, plus if you ride at 80% you'll have more fun and go quicker plus your in the novice group so there will be no competition to go to fast

sorry for the late reply bud . it was just the sensor mate im reading nothing in the dash so i hope its the sensor thats ******

I still need to get out and have a look at my speedo. Like I said, got a brand new sensor but that didn't help. Took the top fairing off and checked the connection where it plugs into the back of the dash plus cleaned it all with electrical contact cleaner and that didn't help either. It's weird, its like vibration or movement is causing the speedo to feck up. Because when you switch the ignition on the clocks read 0 mph. As soon as you thumb the starter and its sitting ticking over the clocks reading goes haywire and jumps all over the place.

Going to check the wiring from the sensor up to the dash. What do you guys reckon could maybe be causing the jumping all over the place?. :O

The strange thing is that the sensor records miles travelled just fine so its getting some sort of reading and sort of working.

YES!!!!. RESULT!!!!

Worked out today what the problem was with my speedo. Brand new sensor which still didn't read correctly. Removed the side panel and checked the three prong connector block the joins the sensor wiring to the main loom. What I had managed to do upon initial fitting was to not fully locate it into all three prong contacts. I had managed to get it located into the bottom two prongs but the top one had been pushed out till it was almost right outside of the plastic block connector. So it had been contacting intermittently which is why it was reading all over the shop.

took it apart, pushed the prong that had nearly came right out of the plastic block, back into the block itself and made sure it was secure. Then carefully connected the sensor back up making sure it was fully home this time and went out for a spin.

Speedo working perfectly!!. :thumbup
