Renegade high mount system: Anyone got one? I just bought one!!!

Renegade kit just arrived. :thumbup

Going to get sorted out and then get it all fitted.

You guys that have fitted them before, I notice in the printed instructions sheet, it says when fitting the cans etc to use "household silicon sealant"???!!! :confused

Sounds a bit strange?.

Silicon sealers fine dude, i know it sounds strange but it works :thumbup just let it dry before you get the cans warm.

itll look and sound fannytastic when its on i bet mate.

Hmmm.

I didn't bother with any silicon at all. Never had to use it for any previous race can joint so I'm hoping I get away with not using it here either. :devious

It was a bit of a ***** to fit though, I'm almost done and am just about to go for a quick blat on it.

Back in a bit. :thumbup

Maybe hes busy with the wife again ..... and I quote

"my wife can hear me coming on a still day, thats nearly a mile and a half away" :love

Hmmmm.

Missus has just arrived home - here goes for the "moment of truth".

When she left for work this morning the bike was still sat with it's standard dustbin on.

Wonder if she will notice?.

Well knock me over with a feather duster!!!

She was miffed at first, but is now saying "Actually, they look quite nice".

Result!!! :thumbup

Okeydoke, here's a few questions for you guys already running Renegades.

I found them a bit of a ***** to fit. Getting the bolts up into where the bungee hook/bobbin thingies were was a bit of a nightmare. The hanger straps were just so springy that actually getting the bolts to catch the thread was a pain.

Also, the link pipe that runs under the battery box. The heatshield on it is very slightly touching the underside of the battery box.

How tight was it to get the indicators connected up??!!!. Not much room for error there!!.

They do sound absolutely fan-bloody-tastic with the baffles out, I have to say. :biggrin

Really, really deep toned and a fantastic low rumble. Throttle response feels a wee tad "wooly" at low revs, but that's not a problem. I will try this chip I have sat 'ere and see how that works in conjunction with the Rengades and the Evo airkit under the tank. I've not tried them with the baffles in yet, don't think I will bother just now.

The only slight niggle I have now is that I have very limited options on where to stick my road tax disc!!!.

I'll get a vid clip up of them as soon as I can.
