well I can vouch for the supermax sport's they are great plenty of knee down antics the weekend
loads of confidence and warm up quick

recomended :thumbup

I fitted them to my Diversion, before I use them on my Mille-R. I believe they are single compound, but they seem no different from my usual tyres, with regards to grip and feedback. Then again, I may be considered a considerate rider.

i wouldnt put that cheap crap on my bike, diablo supercorsas on mine, dont be tight buy good tyres :thumbup

why's the tyre crap? you had bad time with them?
some of us are not being tight but thats all we can afford!

wouldnt buy them, only buy decent rubber, never used them, so i will keep my big mouth shut :eatcorn

no no mate, just wondered why you think the tyres are crap! im in major need of a set for saturday but not going to but somethign thats gonna drop me on the first corner or fall apart after 100 miles :)

I got to be honest i have never had a bad tyre and i ride pretty hard. most of its in your head. give them a go or you will never no.

I remember years ago when bridgstone brought out the bt56ss tyre and it was a revalation a great tyre seemed like you could do no wrong on them
but that tire would be considered **** now
so to me any tyre with manufactured now for sports or sports/tourer must be better

IMHO

I run 2 bikes, Diversion and Mille-R, and they DIversion does 20k per year, while Mille-R does 15k per year. All my miles are commuting to work, but I try to have fun on my travels. The A21 from Hastings to Tonbridge is a lot of fun, and ig it's not early morning, I will get a late night commute. I normally have Michelins Road Pilot 2, then started experimenting with Dunlops RoadSmart, and both have given me 11k+. But a rear of these premium tyres cost what the set of Maxxis costs, and I have not noticed any change in my riding. Maybe one sub-consciously adapts to the rubber one's wearing. I actually read in one of the many bike magazines how good the Maxxis are, and what a great deal they represent. Try them, you'll either love them or hate them. But don't knock them cos you don't know them.

Performance bikes mag did a comparison test a few months back, between the maxxis supermax sport ans super corsa's with guy martin on a zx10.they ended up 0.6 of a second slower than the corsa's around their test track.so if guy martin thinks their ok surely they cant be too bad.but then again he does ride like a girl :biggrin :biggrin

Maxxis are an okay tyre, bordering on very good (possibly excellant time will tell). Put the tyres on your bike that fit within your budget. Dont worry what other people say use google get reviews from there then make your mind up

Lets face it tyres and tyre sizes to some are just willy waving , you cannot use any tyre in the last 5 years (although a 5 year old tyre might be pushing it)so okay last 2 years to its absolute fullest potential on the road.......................unless of course you are breaking the law :devious

Ive done 1000 miles on my Maxxis now in wet and dry conditions and havnt got a bad thing to say about them. But then, of course, I am speaking from the dissadvantaged point of actually having riden them.

Well I need a new set of rubber thanks to a screw but just got off the phone from our local bike tyre place and she said if I supply the tyres then it will cost me £30 per wheel fitted!

£122 for Tyres
£60 Fitted
Total £182 wow

I then asked what she can do for a deal on tyres and avon set for £170 fitted!

If I can find some place aroudn here cheaper that can fit them then I think its worth me getting them, but if not then I may as well spend the extra £10-£20 and have no hassle of waiting for the tyres to turn up and take them along to the shop.

Bloody gutted.

Paul, head down to this place (about 30 mins south of you) TopStop - I always get them to do my tyre swapping on car and bike and they're really cheap. Some of them are bikers as well - not sure if they can balance bike tyres but I've never had any problems with ones they've fitted.
