Recession busting tyre deal

Do what I do and buy some scrubbed in Tyres.

I bought some 2cts powers scrubbed in with 5mm of thread in middle front and rear for 60 quid!!

No problems with grip (I went over the mountain with them at the TT) and solid as a rock in the wet!!

I would not hesitate buying another set.

Im runnin a pair of Supercorsa Pros SC1 ready scrubbed (by Steve Plater apparently), cost me £60, almost ready for my next set and I too wouldnt hesitate to buy more scrubs.

Got no problems with scrubbed in tyres but with the prices the local place charges to fit the bloody things I might aswell buy new :lol

thanks Si for the site, I've emailed for a quick price and when is good to fit and see what he says. If its a good price and can do it anytime :) then I think I might give theses tyres try. might keep the wife off my back for a bit longer. she love me really

Have you ever thought about fitting your own? I started doing my own last year. Theres a great "how to" vid on here somewhere. A fiver to balance each wheel.:pirate

I have the Maxxis touring tyres on my Hayabusa and it can EAT a rear tyre in a few hundred miles, I have had no bother with them at all and they are into their 2600 mile moslty two up, IMHO they are fine.

Said it before but tyres are like Women, find one you like and stick with it..... :)

yes true

but to find one you like you have to try all of them or at least most of them:dunno

always worried about buggering up the oz wheels :)

If you take care its no problem to fit your own :thumbup I have always done them myself after having a wheel damaged by a so called expert:jack
Fitted loads and never had a problem :dunno

just got some pirelli diabalo corsa 3s fitted to mine (dual compound), £175 fitted and balanced if thats any help? they seem good so far, warm up much quicker than supercorsa pros and you dont need to be doing over a ton to get them to work!!

I got slapped £130 for a rear Bridgestone bt 021 which has lasted less than 3k miles.Gonna try maxxis next.Hope a rear maxxis will work with an 021 front coz it`s practically new.

Mixing makes of tyres IS asking for trouble mate. I'd put another Bridgestone on the rear and then change them as a pair. :thumbup

Maybe if we started on the assumption that these are ROAD TYRES, not racing or track tyres, just road tyres, then maybe we can all see some value...
I did fit them on my Divvy first after all...

Mate has the Maxxis what ucallit tyres fitted to a ZX9R. He loved them but he'll probably get less than 3k miles out of them. I've just had fitted a pair of Diablo Supercorsa BSB's and can't praise them enough. Makes me feel like a racer even if though I aint.:biggrin

I have just checked the thread depth on all my tyres, and I am astounded to report that the front on my Mille-R has now gone for 15022 miles on two seperate bikes, and still has 2mm of thread all around. One way of possibly preserving the life of your tyres would be to brake on approach to a corner and accellerate through it. That's what I do every day on my way to London. I know I do not ride like a cat on fire, but I do like to have fun, within my limits...

The Maxxis Supermaxx Sport as tested by Guy Martin in Performance Bike Magazine advert June 2009 issue.

Let's face it, if this tyre was ***** do you think Guy Martin would let his name appear in print endorsing it? :eatcorn

He's not one to mince his words after all, is he?

I know what my next tyre choice will be. :thumbup

BTW, my front was not a Maxxis, but the expensive Michelin Road Pilot 2!

Well I've purchased a set :) Managed to sort out my rear tyre today and re-fitted my old Z6 190 on the back for now.
Im thinking I might keep the Z6 on for the winter and then fit the maxxis ready for spring.

It was to much of a good deal to turn down, well thats what i told the wife plus she loves Guy martin :lol

Having tested these tyres, I can safely say that they are not value for money. I had them fitted on my Diversion, and after less than 5,000 miles they are badly squared off and below the legal limit. Definately not touring tyres for mileage.
