I've alweays blipped my throttle from an early age but never known why, just did it. Answers on a postcard please.
Have read the comments before about blipping deactivating the slipper clutch but TBH I never really go down the box from such high revs that I'd be concerned about locking it up anyway.

You blip (raise the revs) to match the engine revs to the back wheel (gearbox) ,in the same way you shut off the revs to clutchless change up the box
when you blip it will change down with only a small amount clutch and smooth out the mismatch between the speed of the spinning engine and the speed of the back wheel
With our bikes it will slightly engage the clutch anyway so blip is less of an isssue to smooth out

I always blip my throttle, especially with wife on the back. :crazy re: slippers and clutches, intersting bit on the Aprilia in here:

well every days a school day...
.......ahv never considered the blip/don,t blip scenario in relation to a T clutch and engine braking........ah reckon ye wid need tae be tanning it real hard or on track for ye tae need the benefit o it anyroads cos if yer approachin a roondaboot in this country at that sort o speed then ye need tae tak a look at yersel.
..... its nae been a prob so far so ah reckon will carry on business as usual blippin away cos ah fair like the noise it makes

Always Blip the old Throttle when changing down, suppose on a track ,racing ,it is now different and quicker with the slipper clutch etc, One less thing to do when going fast and concentrating like f*** to get into cornering mode?
