Just replaced my tyres and done 2700 miles on the metzeler sportec M3's i had on there I've now got pirelli diablo supercosa's soft compound will be intresting to see how long they last if you get a set of them on Tony you'll be worn them out in about 150 miles and hard riding mine it does about 100 miles to a tank on a steady run 130 miles

theres a test in ride this month regards sports tyres v sport touring tyres,
guess which came out best?
yup,the tourer, upto temp much much quicker, held its temp much longer and kept in the optimum temp range all the time and good for at least double the mileage!!
that was a dunlop v the qualifier rr.
there was in the same mag,a man who swore by his pirelli diablo rossos,so they did a blind test, with 5 tyres,so the man didnt know what he was using each time, and his own pirelli....he rated the worst, hated them.
on blind riding,he loved the avons or bridgestone for feedback, confidence, composure over bumps, turn in speed and feel, being able to ge on the gas early out of corners ect.

Well if you are going to be hooning it around the TT mountain what do you expect.....normal road riding and a couple or three track days should still see 1500-200 odd miles...

what did you rate the maxxis like dude?
they got a crap write up in a recent tyre test in one of the bike mags.

Guy Martin was the tester on an R1 and the result wasn't crap...he reckoned they were pretty good giving lap times to within 1 second and giving ample warning of when things were getting to the limit...

2.5k miles and around 120 miles to light coming on and 20 miles more on reserve

Dunno how many miles but the rear needs replacing often...but I'm sure it must be 1500 on a rear as I replaced mine just before we went to France...Fuel consumption...well it's like a nuclear reactor 80 miles to the light, start sweating at 95/100miles, however it's clearly not built for economy!

thanks for your comments lads, had a good laugh.:thumbup

Very clean and tidy mate....do like your 'home-made' tank stand! I'm sure you'll notice a difference back on the track, err I mean roads!
