Pulled!!!!

I make number plates. I can't confirm about what the fines are but I can say this.
To make number plates, we have to have a licence and keep a record of all plates we make.
Unitl october last year we could make 'show plates' without the need for a logbook or licence, or have to display the manufactures name or postcode. By showplate I mean any number plate not completely legal in any way.
Since October, if I make any number plate, and by any It specifies any plate whatsoever that has a registration mark on it, then it needs to be fully legal. If I get caught making anything other than fully legal plates I can get fined £2000.

Ok, so.. i need a plate made up that is the smallest possible but complies with all regulations,
64mm character height
44mm Character width
10mm character stroke(whatever that is)
10mm space
11mm top,bottom and side margins
13mm space between lines

can anyone make one? I want it to look small... but when the nobbers get the ruler out.. it's all ok
Cheers
MD

i met a guy the other day he had an r6 with a small plate and it said HAGA 41 his real plate was under his seat and they both had velcro on so he could change them he had been pulled once in a year and a half and just said it was a show bike and hed forgot to change the plate back after a show the copper give him a £30 on the spot fine but hes never been pulled since or had a speeding ticket also you can only be pulled for your plate once in 24 hours after the first pull you have a day to rectify it.
STAY SAFE AND RIDE LIKE YA STOLE IT .

yoll be looking at a plate..130 x 240 ish to be legal with the plate, only leaves end can, visor, speeding, filtering and genral **** to be pulled for....:doug

haha, deffo mate, there isn't a minimum size for the plate anymore, only lettering limits, was just wondering if anyone could custom make a plate that satisfy the criteria but is as small as possible
:devious

I know ,that bikes got a dodgy side stand ,so he carries her around to have somewhere to wedge the front wheel for support when parked. :eatcorn

i for one wouldn't mind if it put a stop to cloning of plates which is the idea. but it's not going to and just ends up being a money maker. but i guess a lot of people that have stupid plates also have no insurance etc, so if it picks up things like that then it should be good.

well according to the local oficer that pulled us the day it all changed (1st July fine went up to £60)...bikes with small plates tended to go faster and be involved in the majority of RTA's.........:jack I kid you not he told us this when he run out of things to say after we said we had been pulled just half hour earlier on the other side of the road!!!!! :jack

Wait a mo, is filtering illegal?

i do that past coppers in que's all the time, Actually i enjoy it.

I'm serious, is it ?

filtering is legal as long as the traffic is stationary and the coppers consider you to be taking due care and attention

Try reading this.

I reckon it all depends on the copper at the time. Judge and jury spring to mind.

Just read that and i'm actually annoyed by it.

So basically if you annoy a copper he can section 59 your *** and take your bike!

great, nice loose definitions of what is illegal "upsetting people or distress" FFS.

If you put the vehicles of everyone on the road who upset me you'd have the worlds biggest car park with a whole section for prejudiced mother F****ng policemen.:rant

the number plate jobs a load of Bollox to be fair -
me n the missus went out yesterday and coppers were filtering some bikes over the road side - they chaecked mine out lights horn - checked that both brake light switches were working tyres all the norm - cheecky fooker even asked if the akras were mine lol and tried rubbing the E number making sure they wernt a cheap sticker.
any way they were checking the missus new blade out which has a cut down plate - the numbers / letters are correctly spaced and right size however i cut it down to the bare minimum as its 3 letters top and 3 bottom so its quite small - the copper says to her " have you cut this plate down ? " she says no - he did it intending me well they thought her responce was that humourous they let us on our way and got a chit for a free brew over the road :) -

me mate and me were stopped a few weeks ago and my mates plate is smaller than norm with no border, it was commented on by the officer to which my mate replied "it was bought before the law change" and the officer didnt say anything else about it...and another thing I was out on Sunday near Braintree and whilst stopped for an ice cream over heard a couple of other bikers say that they had just been stopped at a police roadside spot check, where not only had the bikes been checked over but that the police had also used a decibel meter to check the exhausts...i have akros no baffles in so does my mate and the 3rd machine has a hindle...needless to say we went the other way!
