richt the times come fir a new paddock staund,,,, cause ma front wans very dodgy on the prilly, as in twice it slipped aff the day,,,, ahve had it fir years, so time has come to shell oot,,,, noo ahm looking at the abba,,, which seems to do front an back in the oner,,, they do a wee jack to lift the front in aw but its no suitable fir twins apparantly,,,, but as it rocks on the pivot point a dinae see it bein much o a problem for cleanin the front etc, only if the wheel wis commin aff or the likes, which ahm nae spanner man so it disnae bother me, thats whaur ducati aundy comes in :thumbup
so ma question,,,any o you dudes, have or used wan, if so are they the mutts nuts like their cracked up tae be, cheers mannie's :yes

I've got an Abba ... and it it very very good and stable and a lot easier / safer than trying to use a conventional one from the rear on your own. I would like the bitty that does the front too ... but can't find one.

abba noo ordered, aye apparantl the front bitty disnae work on a twin, a wis lookin at makin a wee plate wi rollers so the front can still spin fir the cleanin aspect like :)

it works on mine ok

Can you please take a photo of T on main and front Abbas ...

FFS ... in your photo, don't include untidy sheds (tin, vinyl or wood) or unkempt gardens or the OCD patrol will be down on you like a tonne of cleaning products.

i would love to but my bikes not got back from spain yet, but as soon as it gets back it will be straight up on the abba stand to fit the new bog bone

I'll get on the case tomorrow welly. mines currently up on the Abba right now as I've had a major cleaning & servicing day today.

Cleaned bike, changed oil & filter, changed clutch fluid, adjusted chain, cleaned & lubed. cleaned air filter. mended puncture I picked up on Thursday.

Looks like new. just ordered new number plate as melted legal sized one whilst on Euro Fudd about.

Have got a frontie but not that much of a fan on the Prilly. have made an adaptor but today opted for a conventional trolley jack to lift up the front wheel. again using my home made chock. No doubt a 1/2 decent fabricator would come up with a simple solution using a bit of steel tube.

As promised.

It would be easy to make a better adaptor plate using a bit of steel tubing, just havent come across any on my travels yet. The wooden block does slide when lifting due to the pivotal effetct so not really ideal currently find it easier to use a trolley jack which means you can raise the front wheel right up until the rear touches the grond creating a nice stable platform with enough room to easily remove the front wheel.

On the rear I use a paddock stand with the pivotting supports removed & a length of round bar through the holes & through the hollow spindle.

When I want to remove the wheel I lift it as above, but sit the bike down on axle stands either side of the wheel, resting it on the bobbins.

Its nice & soild.

so the new staund came the day,,,,, took oot the wee plugs fir gaun into the frame, ma first thocht, were ''shahoorsir'' their a bit short, so a fired them in, noting whit wan goes in whit hole,,,,,, set the staund up,,, an tightened away,,, didnae ken hoo much to tighten the t-bar, so a did it fairly tight as one o the plugs didnae fit that well, the one on the t-bar side,,,, and whit happened, when a tightened the t-bar it pushed the plug ticht in the hole an a couldnae get the **** oot,,,,,,

Hey Tricky

Like the hydraulic bike lift...... which one is that and whats it like in use ?

Itr's a sealey one. Wider of the two available. Had it as a Birthday presant from brother but know that Gilo will be able to refer you to a guy where he got his from up North West Widness / Blackburn way I think who does them.

Works great by the way has improved the standard of my cleaning & maintenace 10 fold. I just had to trim about 3 inches off my Abba stand to enable the feet to sit inside the lip of the base.

This looks like the one I got. probably Chincky made & rebadged by various importers I'd say at a guess.

That looks the same as mine quality is good I think. I'm pretty sure as I mentioned there are a few that look identical but with differant badges on them. I think my brother paid about £325.00 for mine

I've sent felix a link to the hydraulic lift I bought off e-bay from CJ Autos. Mine's the narrower one which means I had to make up a wooden platform to use my Abba stand on it. The CJ Autos one isn't badged but the quality is fine - well pleased with mine, makes working on the bike a pleasure.
