Right fellow Tgadgies. I've been thinking aboot doing a wee run up North next time instead o going Sooth. The plan would roughly be leaving fae NE Jockland, head in land for a bittie before turning North and heading up past Inverness and towards Wick/Thurso. My hoose ti Thurso is aboot 200 miles so I thinking an overnighter might be required. If need be I could give a bed to a couple o folk on the Friday night before leaving on the Setterday morning. On the Sunday we could tak a different route back doon the West Coast to maybe Fort Billy (ffs nae again) Got to try and get Loch Laggan road in there somewhere.
Ti give a rough idea, it took me 3 hours to get fae Edinburger ti mi hoose in the car but that was on the duller all the way up.
Noo this is jist a thoucht at the minute.
Onybody funcie it?
 
Interested, subject to all the usual stuff fittin in, work, family stuff etc etc

Aye still got the T Had a couple people interested ;-) but decided to hang onto it for the time being. Some days I still think about selling as I just don't get out on it as much as I would like these days
 
Dinnae sell it, ye'll be greetin fur months if ye dae! Better tae have it in the garage an use it occassionally than nae at a'..
 
when you set a date I will try and make it loons. depends oan work etc. fancy seeing more of rico/slomo land

Aye its all doon to the dates for me, got two weekends free at moment in September, but work can fill em up pretty quick, the bastids.
me partner also angling for a weekend away soon so would need to put her off Fudfest III weekend if I'm off on the dates.
Depending on far me girls are could also offer a space in me slum if required for overnight Fri/Sat for anybody travelling up.
Only 15 mins from u for the meet up sat morning.

I'll try an get something done aboot dates ASAP.
"15 mins" are yi taking the bus like?:)
 
Right as a wee starter fir 10.
24th Sept or 1st Oct would be best for me.
Might manage 17th Sept at a push.

So if those dates are ony guid then let mi ken.

Possible route would be.
Day 1 (Saturday) aboot 200-210 miles
Peternapper
Mintlaw
Turriff
Huntly
Dufftown
Grantown on Spey
Carrbridge
Boring Duller to Inverness
Alness
Dornach
Brora
Helmsdale
Dunbeath
Thurso. (This route might change slighty on the day by going the scenic route)

Day 2 Sunday.
Thurso
Kyle of Tongue
Lairg
Inverness (down loch ness)
Fort Agustus
Fort Billy
(179 miles to here)
Backtrack a little to Kingussie along the Loch Laggan road. Aboot 50miles
So that would be aboot 230 to there.
The NE guys can go back hame through avimore etc, and the gadgies form doon sooth can hot foot it doon the A9 inti Perth etc.
Of course this is jist an idea of what I think we can be doing. It would be quite a hurl because the roads are quite a challange in some places but I'm sure they would be worth it.
Also, if anyone makes it up early enough on Friday afternoon I can take them a spin roon the local roads for an hour or so.

Ah should be able tae manage a day oot oan any o thae dates slomo min but ah couldna manage owernight. Need tae be a day time meet up/piss take then head doon the road as stuff gaun oan ah need tae be here at nicht fur. Ah'd jist hae tae leave early as ****. Up fur it tho as ah'll meet a the fuds.
 
Nae bother Gmin. I suppose you could come up as far as Inverness then cut back doon to Fort Agustas o Loch Ness. Or come up North a bit further and then back doon the A9 ti Perth. As I said the route could change. It disna need to be an overnighter as we could ging a shorter route.
 
Fir my tuppince worth at the moment the 24th would be best for me, 17th possible 1st Oct nope working.

Dunno if the 24th gonna be the date for Fudfest III or not or if onybody else been looking at places to kip or not. Had a wee look the night coz I am also booking rooms for a wee trip with me partner on another weekend(thats the cost for me pass to FF III).
Royal Hotel Thurso have , at the moment , single rooms for £40 quid a night and sure the twins were £66, includin breakfast. It says theres parkin and it appears to be in middle o the toon. thats what it is on www.booking.com anyway.
