Newblie here

bay.. dont want to hold you up:eek: i cant beeleve you havent been up A483 to newtown???? thats plain madness! at crossroads garage..turn right to little rounabout 3rd exit thats A483 its reet grand, all them roads are bloody great...i do spend alot of tIme investigating the tarmac up that way:cool:

Sometimes I REALLY hate you guys. Those of us in the colonies don't have a tight and winding road system to play with. Our roads have a tendency to go straight as an arrow for several hundred kilometres.

And it looks like I want an 07 or an 09 Factory. Bronze frame or not. Lurve them black cans.

Evlin I've been up there but I usually follow. My firm has an office up there as well so I sometimes frequent that part of the woods in the car as well (not often though) so I do the old Kington road etc. Its a nice run and I can get to Hereford no problem from Crossgates etc but I just tend to switch off when the lads branch off left in Hereford as its a road I don't particularly like. I could probably remember it if I tried but I tend to just do the Hereford Abergavenny road if I'm on my own.

I don't particularly like riding by myself (I know a few of the lads that don't in case they come off and no one sees them). I know you can't speak to anyone when you're riding unless u have an intercom but I quite like the social scene of stopping at the cafes for a chat.

PS I don't think u'd have a problem keeping up. I think Aka-Gilo can vouch for that. I think I'd classify myself as a reasonabley efficient rider. I make progress but not too fast. Plus when we went out on Saturday as we went a different way than I normally go a fu*ked up quite a few of the corners. Partly to do with it being a bit greasy and being a bit more tentative on the corners at this time of year.

PS If u're in Oxfordshire and come up this way to ride thats a bloody long way to travel often. Do u stay over somewhere or do the jaunt in just one day. I bought my bike from Aylesbury and its a good 2 hours back from there depending which roads u take (M4 or through the Cotswolds).

PS shovel I'll take a few pics of the roads for u over here one day. I always say I'm going to take my camera but never do. Have an I phone so no excuse really.

PS anyone ever been over Lower and Uper chapel roads over the firing ranges to Llandovery. Now thats a road u just can't ride fast due to the sheep but absolutely amazing views

I prefer to ride by myself or with one other at the most. I do try to lead a couple of group rides a year for the newbs. Tryign to find any entertaing routes such as you folk have in Auld Blighty is a difficult proposition.

Usually there's 4 at tops when we go out and it works fine. Any more than that gets a bit stupid. I like going 2nd but if you're at the back its catch up sometimes although once the boys overtake they tend to slow down until everyone is past. All advanced riders apart from me but I keep up. Their philosophy on the roads we use is 70mph but everywhere and that includes most of the bends.

Saying that they are safe though and ride depaendant on the conditions

Dependent on the conditions is the key point. I'm reasonably quick, but like to ride my own ride. Ergo, if you want to follow. by all means. Ride yer own damn bike though. I've had some others ***** at me that I ride to quickly in the corners and not fast enough on the straights. It's usually IL4 ******* though. heh.

I think the key is try to be smoothe. 70mph and a little faster is safe in the corners if you're smoothe and keep the right line. Start whapping the brakes on mid corner and it gets you into more of a shape than if you just forced the bike around. If I'm going a little fast for the corner I try and brake before but never mid corner.

Saying that went for a ride with Gilo on sat and ****** up a fair few corners as it was a different way than I normally go. Nice to know the roads u ride otherwise its safer to go a bit slower

Absolutely. Having traveled a little in England and Scotland, I can only say that I know now why there are so many Tuonos there. The perfect bike for an afternoon of fun.

And feel free to grace us with some pics of you and the T on some of your favourite roads!

bay, i ride up and back in a day, leave really early:cool: usually meet up with my mate , maybe we will catch up one day ... i ride my bikes all year unless its icey, thats not nice! did you get your bike from on yer bike? i go A40 to wales...never evil M4. i can do abber....to abingdon hour n half unless traffics really bad slows me down lol
shovelhead...that must be dreafull straight roads ahhhhhhhh square tyre city lol

Unfortunately, the square tire syndrome is pernicious here in North Central Alberta. If you get really bored someday, Google Earth it. The nice thing is that I'm only three or four hours from some of the best mountain riding in the world. Giddy up!

why has this thread has like 13 and a half thousand views ?? .. cant be right surely ...can it ?

bay yep i get throught fair amount of tyres:eek: im on here because i ride bikes nowt else let me tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i do like tarts mmmmm:D

Nay lass. Most of the "lot" here are 40s and 50s. We occasionally allow the puppies a voice... but not often.

Ohhhhhhh, I get it. Yer basing yer opinion on the erudite conversation bandied about in the forum. We just ACT like a bunch of pubescent fart joke loving giggling boyz. Hence the startled and confused reaction to a female amongst us. We're just not sure what to do....

Mmmmmmm Mr Bakewell tarts are the finest. I might take some tarts out on my next rideout and get them out at the coffee stop. Anyone for a tart gentlemen. Aherm

Fair play Evlin I am impressed 58 and now riding a Tuono. How long have you been riding bikes?

Being a lady ;) do you find the Tuono a tall bike at all. Its just right for my 5'11 frame but one of the tallest bikes I've ridden. My Suzuki was way lower than this thing

Dammit... I was trying to keep the children from speaking out. Back to the kid's table CB!!!
