Newblie here

Gold wheels are a trademark of the Factory bikes. If yours doesn't have gold, I'd look in to it. Ask Bonners or Nob for some background. There may be models that have a different colour but I've never heard of them...

Bugger lost my repli some how doh start again, so the factory race cans look like standard ones? massive lol spose i will see sunday when i see it.
this is all it says on shop adver Description:

Ahem. The 07 Factory has blue Oz wheels.

Thanks shovelhead...i done nearl 48000 on that speed triple...i cant get rid of it, winter hack lol
this is a factory goldframe ohlins....blue wheels, on a 08 plate maybe last of 07 plates ?????? i know nowt bout these fancey italin bikes ..funny yesterday i was on test ride went in to abbergavenny bus station , pulled up next to a bloke with a 10 plate tuono in the red n black gold wheels... i really liked the coulor..he had just got rid of his SD for tuono!!!!!!! must be the thing lol

It sounds like an 07 model registered/sold in 08. Don't worry there is no difference in the Factories except the colour schemes. Just be wary of all the "extras" they are selling you, the factory comes pretty well sorted for carbon etc from Aprilia, so make sure it is an "extra" before you pay over the odds for it. The "139 bhp" is standard, ALL Tuono's from 07 on have the Rotax Magnesium Evo engine in them, Factory or R model, it's the same.

Make sure they service the fooker and do a valve check for feck all before you collect it.

Known probs are misting up clocks (cue Tifa) dash resets because the battery is fooked, and (rare) dead stators. You won't suffer the big end prob as it affects the later bikes.

Heh... I knew the gang would get things sorted. I like the blue wheels meself. I DIDN"T like the bronzey calf scour brownish colour of the frames. I'll have to see what the gold coloured frames look like as I hav'nae seen the newer ones. My mate saw an 08 Factory at the track last month but I haven't had the pleasure.
Thanks Pauly for sussing things oot.

nob...yes thats bike i tested,if you look under thunder road newport its on there webpage.
batfastard, thanks for info will keep eye on battery n stuff i know the twins like a good battery, well its got carbon bits on it, hugger, bellypan, bits on the side...thats a **** discription doh!! but sure you get my drift, also whats the sevice intervals? ktm is ever 3000!!!! every other is vales so im used to big bills lol and has it a dry sump? i really should have looked into it i spose, typical woman lol. rode ktm tonight as its bike night....really hope im not making bad decision its a proper savage hooligan bike, wonder if i will miss it!!!! be ok when its out the shed i spose:D

Make sure you get the rear seat pod, it should also have the 15th sprocket unless already fitted. Tell them a 08 bike should have gold wheels and you want discount as its the previous years model. You could also tell them the 6000 mile service will soon be due with you doing so many miles and to chuck that in as well. Make sure the back tyres good as they don't last long. I'd ask them for some cans to, its a buyers market. Tell them the new V4's out soon and their will be loads of these around next year. Play with em.

Hey evlin. Was the guy on the Tuono at Abergavenny in his 50's? I got chatting to a guy about that age on a 10 plate Tuono Factory a month or so back up at Aber and he'd chopped in a Super Duke for it. He loved the T and reckoned he'd made the right choice! :D

Nob...christ you drive a hard bargin ;) well its getting new tyres i reckon im getting a fair deal..i have been offered anything from 3 to 3.5 grand for SD so 4700 is pretty good.
Gilo, yes sounds like the bloke 50s black n red , i get round wales a lot , like the roads up there, hope this new beast will be a twisteytastic thing:cool:

Evlin. Check the wheels have OZ in big letters on one of the spokes somewhere. If they are genuine Oz wheels don't swap them for gold ones, get them powder coated if you want to.

This is the 2007 model colour scheme.

Evlin if you're ever in Wales give us lot a shout up here. I know some really crap routes around Peterchurch which will make you want to get your suspension set up right. Aka_gilo can vouch for that. I thought we were riding a pair of bucking bronco's on the weekend rather than Tuono's.

Saying that I think next time we have a forum ride out this way we'll stick to the fast B Roads which we ended up going on later.

Aka how about Aber, Brecon, Llandovery, Builth, Llandod, Crossgates, Hereford and back to Aber. Hows that route next time? Theres 2 big biker stops on the way on that one. U been to Crossgates?

batfastard...its the top one im getting, but cans are silver like bottom ones not black:D
bay 1472...nice route, i do ride them roads now and again:cool: not a fan of group riding mind, but maybe go to abber bus stop for tea

Bay - that sounds good to me. I know that route as far as Builth, but not the next section up round Crossgates. Heard good things about that area though so well up for it.

Its a good route. I know it as far as Cross Gates through to Kington and down to Hereford. The lads take a different route home from Hereford which I've never really paid much attention to and don't like but essentially next time out could just go on the Hereford road which we did to the petrol station and back to Aber.

Although I might try and find out the route they take.

Come on Evlin don't poo poo the group riding stuff. We don't go that fast. Read back at Aka_Gilo's post about the forum ride out in Wales and we only passed the speed camera at 50mph. He clocked us at our fastest. Honest Guvnor.

Gilo...that road from llandovery to builth is fantastic...crossgates to newtown is even better...has to be ridden!!!!!!

Well if you know that way Well Evlin can u show us the way ;)

I'm hardly a homing pigeon and get lost going from my house in Abergavenny to the shops
