Just went to start the T and got a slow cranking but no firing cos I'm stupid and forgot to put the optimate on ... But what I did get which I aint seen before is a speedo reading of 132 kph while it was turning over .... Any ideas chaps ??? ... Optimate is now on so will try again in hour or so ....

my bnattery is in tip top condition and will randomly show 150mph 68mph 188mph and so on and so on......

Me too. Mine maxes out @ 11.8 but starts as long as it doesn't go below 11. So as long as I don't leave it more than 5/6 days it's fine.

If you havent got a sealed battery you would have to top up the battery during routine maintenance anyway.As long as the voltage stays below 14.5v the gassing is minimal, if your Optimate charges ubove that ,get a new one.
How old is the Battery Toad ? They don't last forever & some say the original spec 10 Ah battery is not up to the job of turning the big V twin over if it is not anywhere near fully charged.
