Hi I've have three Tuono's in the past and have just came back to Apriia.
Completed a deal for a purchase of new Aprilia Tuono 1100rr 2016 model yesterday. Its been a long time since I was so excited about forthcoming delivery of a new bike. I also have a 2015 Versys 1000 for long distance touring so Aprilia is my new shiny toy for sunny days and shorter trips.
On my last three Tuono's I never had a problem doing longer days, but a few years ago I had quite a severe foot injury at work and with the vibration of the V twin I could no longer sadly live with the Tuono and had to sell here on for a Yamaha FZ1S. The first Tuono I had I did 26000 miles in three years, second Tuono 19000 miles in two years and last one 11000 in 14 months and only sold it because my foot played up as there is now quite a bit of titanium in my foot to put it back together.
My friend recently bought a 2009 Tuono and that got me thinking as I was very jealous. Went and tried the new 1100 v4 any found it very comfortable with a lot less vibration. So anyway deal done and new Akra pipe thrown in. I have already purchased handlebar risers. I intend to do all my own servicing and spanner work using Aprilia parts as I have always worked on my own bikes.
I have a few questions if anybody can help would appreciate it.
Whats best or most popular larger screen to keep some of the wind blast off on 2015/16 1100 rr?
Do I have to look for a screen that only fits 15/16 model years or does earlier model years fit?
What foot pegs do you recommend that are a little lower?
Will be selling new Akra Carbon silencer once bike arrives as I have a SP engineering pipe that I want to fit instead so if anybody interested drop me a mail. Akra not even fitted to bike when it arrives but will still be in box unopened will only open to check contents and ensure no damage and take pictures.
