I am starting to think a pressure washer will be best for cleaning my bike.. Have spent many hours cleaning with degreaser etc and its not 100%.. How do you clean yours?

With diesel and a tooth brush .
Be carful with a presser washer around the bearing and suspension linkages as it will wash out the geese and then they can dry out !

That's true.. Ill get to it with a tooth brush next time.. I need a good stand for it so that I can remove the wheels and give the swing arm a decent clean. The engine seems to be hard to clean, maybe pressure washer here would be a good idea?

Here is a video showing how it is right now..

Yeah don't go near it with a pressure...Italian electrics & forced water..think you'll be asking for trouble..ha ha

the only way to get into the nuck is to strip it down and get the tooth brush out .
the rest is looking nice and clean after the dirty first ride

Haha think ill gove the pressure washer a miss then. Tooth brush it is. Rear wheel will be out soon.. I will be double checking the shock linkage bearings to see of a strip down can be justified :)

Shock linkage and swing arm look to be fine so will save that for next winter.. Gave it a bit more of a clean today and look what turned up! :thumbup

Thank you redratbike I decided not to piss the neighbours off this evening and I am seriously looking forward to firing it up first thing after work tomorrow!!

I have decided the engine and areas that cant be seen have had enough cleaning for this winter and will do a proper strip down next winter.

Doh! Missed a bit..

Looks like I will have to cut the U piece of fairing I burnt and replaced previously to allow the fairings to fit?

Whats the best way to get scuffs out of my end can and swing arm?

Fired her up today and she does sound different for sure! A bit louder and it sounds nicer.. Didn't rev it over 4k so can't comment on performance or raspyness yet. Cant wait for the sun to come out and the salt to be washed away. Going to have to do some more cleaning to keep me occupied that shock is just asking to be cleaned properly!

My standard collector will be sent back to you on Saturday RR. I have some brake and clutch fluid and the clutch fluid does look a bit manky.. Any good guides on bleeding the clutch?

cool!

clutch...syringe from the bottom has been a good way to go for people..sure thats how i done mine...it will be manky again in no time just the way mille's are

It goes manky due the the bore of the M/C being alu.

I bled mine the normal way and it went black again within a month!

I read it turned black due to an o-ring in one of the cylinders, think it was the slave that wasn't lubricated properly on assembly....unless this is one of those instances where you dreamt something but actually think it's reality :confused

On mine I cleaned the slave cylinder and coated the seal with silicone grease which you can get from any dive shop,it slows the process down and gives a smoother action :)
