I think it's more about how you ride them. Stix tends to ride in a high gear at lower revs so gets good (comparatively!) MPG, whereas Mick canes his to the redline all the time so gets through stacks of fuel. I'm somewhere in the middle, riding style and hence MPG.

Don't think there's much difference between gen 1 and 2 MPG-wise.

ah must be a lucky loon wi mine. Even wi 15/42 gearin, open airfilter kit, an the MIVVs its regular as clockwork at 105 tae light and averagin 36 mpgs ( trust me ahv done the maths, ye need tae see ma receipt collection eh Slomo!) An ah widnae say ah drive like Miss Daisy either!

I get 30 mpg commuting. 35 not commuting.... . got PCIII to see if that helps. But this debate goes round in circles (Tuonos and MPG = futile).

rmin maybee oor gallons are bigger. ???

Corrrrr I did 123 miles before the fuel light came on today, I don't ride everywhere flat out but I ain't slow on it either.

Got a Gen 2 2006, with Map 2 and Akros.
How you ride plus servicing/tuning must have something to do with it.
Mine has been serviced by Griff for the last 3 years and goes really well, but use the torque and hardly ever rev beyond 7,000rpm.
MPG ranges from 41 to 47 mpg, usually 45 mpg, with the low fuel light coming on between 105 and 120 miles. Most fuel I've ever put in is @ 14.5 litres, when I managed to do 151 miles (last 35 with fuel light on). I know there's 18 litres in there because I drain the tank for the winter and always get 4 or 5 litres out even when the fuel light has been on.

i67............ imo 7k and above is where the engine really starts to fly, use it often, 32/35mpg is good for my 09 factory "Full akro baffles out a& K&N filter map2" If taking it easy i get ??? mpg. When my light comes on ive still got about 7/8ltr in there , so i know i can do a few miles before filling up,the light is not accurate on gen 2s at least i wont run out after 30mls on res

while in france couple of weeks ago we missed a petrol station so had to nurse it to the next one, managed to get 143miles out of the girl(31milers on reserve), filling her up took 16.82ltrs, what is the size of a gen2 tank?
the next stint i took it very very easy and got 132miles to the next stop WITHOUT the light coming on, it can be done

The very most I've managed out of mine is 46mpg ,it's a 2008 gen 2 with short Akros (came with the bike) it hasn't been mapped.I got 155 miles and there was some left -can't remember how much. I managed this riding to work which is mainly motorway. I have two riding modes when I use the T for work , on the way to work I ride at about 70-80 mph but on the way back I might ride as as fast as 90-110 mph. I always get at least 40mpg +.

i've done a 60 mile trip which started with my fuel light coming on intermittently until about 1/4 of the way through my journey... literally just managed to roll through the door and no more.. went to warm her up the next day and she died again within a few moments with the choke on and i'd to push the big brute to the petrol station lol i thought that was some going considering the reports on economy for these things!

Had a hairy one on way to Calais yesterday, fuel light came on at 85miles after caning it up motorway between 100 & 120 No Fuel stop until Calais, nursed it into petrol staion in Calais. after 110 miles filled up 17.75 ltrs. that was a cloth touching moment alright.
