Today I striped my bike down to change the sprag. Used the guide from the other forum and would like to offer my experience.
So after I fitted the BMW sprag which goes in the opposite way round I boxed it all up the only thing when putting it back together was that it wouldnt spin in one dorection but I thought that it may be a quirk of the BMW part.
Turned the key and it clattered! so stripped it back down again to investigate.
It turned out that the new bearing had one of the rollers round the wrong way!
Must have happened during manufacture, so I turned it round boxed it back together and tried to start it.
Sounded better but would not fire! couldnt hear the fuel pump so fiddled about with the wires and then tried again.
Success! but had a slight miss-fire going on so further investigation found a dodgy spark plug lead of the front piston so considering a new (second hand) set of leads.
Ive new plugs to go in but no spanner thin enough as its not got a tool kit.
The bike has been neglected my the previous owner but once Im finished with it he wouldnt recognise it!
All in all the sprag is quite easy if you take your time, nothing to worry about.
Once again, thanks to Tash for supplying all my parts.
