How To Guides
B

BB1000

Specially for 04/05 rsv owners

Order this part.......Genuine Aprilia Jet 40 .... part number 0268751 ........no 10 on the list

I fitted it today, all you do is remove a bolt just above the oil filter cover, uncsrew the old jet 60 and remove with a small pair of pin nose pliers

WOW....what a difference.....its worth the £6.03

Carriage is £6 to so i ordered the heat shield for the rear brake

Both items are standard on the 06 and onwards models

HTH.............:thumbup

Cheers for this mate, very helpful - might have to do this mod myself as I'm finding neutral a bastard to find - I keep finding myself holding the clutch in facing down a steep hill at traffic lights (Plymouth has a lot of both of these things) and feeling the life drain out of my hand. I've only had the bike for a week and it does seem to get easier to find with a bit of fiddling though - like other things in life...... Ooh er missus.

Hi guys.........to make the clutch even softer you can get a slave master cyclinder from MPL....on ebay.....makes a big difference as well....got mine for £65

Hi

recently purchased a RSV Mille (W)2000. Having similar problems with selecting neutral. Will this part work for me on the earlier bike?

Kind Regards

Trouble getting neutral

Hi Battle biker, I am new to this site and Apriliasand know next to nothing about bikes. You seem to know your stuff.I have noted about 5 problems with my 06 Factory,(apparently 04 model),all of which must be common problems,ie clutch, back brake, side stand, gearing, and neutral problems. I noticed your thread regarding jet 40 so have ordered one..As I had the side panel off anyway I have had a go at removing the jet and as I started to remove the nut oil started coming out, have I removed the wrong nut or do you have to drop the oil first.
Many thanks in advance.

I have done all 3 MPL slave, 40 Jet nad heat shield.

Back Brake is still ****. The clutch is about 25% better. It was unridable when I picked the bike up.

just ordered mine, if its above the oil filter i'm guessing oil coming out will be standard, but can someone who's done the mod confirm this please?

Mine's hard to get on my 02 mille too, i just flick it up into 2nd then lightly tap back down and it drops straight into neutral, took a bit of practice to get used to.

yo richmond rossi, its an allen key bolt just above oil filter and to the left you'll find that your overflow tubes run down in front of it just where the wire is that the overflow tubes go through remove bolt that holds wire to make access easier. you will get a bit of oil come out but not much. old jet bit of a sod to get out unless you have a very slim pair of long nose pliers, i ain't but after 20 mins fidling i got it out, run bike for a few mins before trying to put into gear.....

I have the 2006 and its still difficult to find neutral. Is this to do with bleeding the Clutch? Or is there some aftermarket stuff that helps? Have seen a few things for sale regarding the clutch but not sure what I need.

i know you can make clutch lighter by changinig master cylinder as some one has already mentioned, as far as i know jet is the only thing that helps with neutral, your suppose to change 60 jet for 40 jet, i've owned 2 o5 rsv's and both have been naff at getting neutral. theres a link at beginning of this post use that to order jet the part is number10 on diagram...

just been out for first ride after fitting 40 jet, wow what a difference works a treat.......
