The standard Gen one plate fits 51mm-54mm bodies.The trumpets are not supposed to be a tight fit or seal.When fitted there is a gap around the outside of the trumpet /Velocity stack the size of the gap varies.However there is no seal.The velocity stack is supported by the screws that hold the stack in the plate.The bottom of the stack sticks out /protrudes from the bottom of the plate when viewed from the underside.This bit of the stack is then located into the top of your throttle bodies & the original locating screws used to pull the plate down onto the bodies .This is then sealed buy the underside of the plate sealing of around the throttle bodies.When this is done you the fit the piper cross filter over the stacks.

Job done :dunno

To summarise you fit the stacks, using the original screws into the new plate.Offer the plate and stacks over the bodies.Locate the stacks into the bodies.Screw down the plate done :dowhat

Correct, thats how I installed it. :)

The problem was today solved by the dremel.:biggrin
The "hill" thats suppose to go over the TPS was to low, 10 minutes later and some more space under that "hill" on the board make the board fit perfect.

If you look at page 21, at the pictures, you see the gap. This created the confusion about the installation of the board.

Time for testrun soon. :doug

You have had me checking my gen 1 mould for damage & or imperfections.:eek:

Im am pleased you have sorted this and can only presume that you have had a anomaly with your plate.As this seems to be case i have just checked a carbon version that i have laid up for a customer and there is clearance over the sensor. Strange as for page 21 its hard to see from your pictures

I would like to request feedback from any others that have had a problem with the sensor/clearance to advice me.

As i said im pleased you have sorted this but this shouldn't be necessary.
Pls let me now if any other people have had any problems with clearance around the sensor ( Feed back required guys )

There may be a number of different reasons why after confirming your order and your kit being ready that you haven't paid. However after being contacted and advised that i have made your kit and that it is ready to be posted,i will now only hang onto it for 7 days.After this time i will let some else waiting in the Que have yours.I will amend your order to canceled and if you still want your filter kit you will have to re-order it.

or have the last 2003 Edwards rep which came standard with 57s.The reason being is that the base plate will need to be slightly bigger around the velocity stacks and the base plate itself needs to be 7.5mm thick :confused

Yes no problems. It just looked like the carbon haved bend abit under that hill.

Now after this quick little mod the plate/board fits perfect, all the holes are in exact place and it feels like very high quality.

Very easy to clean the filter to.

Anyway, thanks for your help guys, got the kit on and she sounds awesome! Dont really notice any power gains, but then I've only really ridden the bike once before and she's dpwn on power anyway for some reason I've yet to discover, but the sound alone has made it worth it! :thumbup: Been annpoying the Oxfordshire countryside all evening :devious

Now just gotta git it fitt'd and ready for a return trip to the dyno for a PC111 re-map :pirate

cheers mate arrived yesterday, looks gr8, u def know what ur doing. fitting it 2nite so will post how i get on
 
got it fitted last night straight forward enough couple of things just does the hose supplied need to be as heavy duty? and the 6 bolts on the tb's the rear rh side bolt fouls on the blow-out justs needs changed to a smaller head bolt
 
so what happens with the crankcase fumes that were originally vented to the airbox to be burnt? you will surely get an oily mist expelled from the small filter making a mess all over the engine?

on a slightly separate note, i removed my airbox the other day to do the 9000 mile service and there are no trumpets on my throttle bodies. the bike came with a foam filter and carbon plate to replace the airbox, so presume that maybe they did not fit with that setup and the previous owner has thrown them away?
