Hi everybody,I was wondering of anybody could help me out and share there views with a little problem I've got with my factory T..I have bought some of the black aprilia cans and cored them out as per the how to guide on here, and once fitted the bike runs perfect for about 10miles then it cuts out on my when I pull the clutch in...so scratching my head wondering what it could be I went and had the map changed over to map2 as I thought it might had been the fuelling...but that hasn't cured it..so if you have any thoughts I would be very grateful..thanks

I've read most of the threads regarding problems with the bike cutting out and checked the side stand, checked the vacuum hoses under the tank and all seems fine..it's just the bike doesn't cut out with the standard cans on only when the open exhausts are on..any ideas??

Sorry cant help with this, maybe give griff at Aprilia Performance a call - there's not much that he doesnt know about the T

Try your original cans, if its still happening you need to look elsewhere? Just a thought to narrow problem doon! ;)

It doesn't do it with the standard cans on,which is why I had the map2 put on so I could run open exhausts..so it's something to do with them been on the bike, but it should run ok with the map2 on.

Have you knocked the wire off the sensor - think its o2 sensor when putting other cans on?
Or you could have ballsed up the coring job?

I will check the sensor, but map2 doesn't use the o2sensor does it..and how can I have ballsed up the coreing?? You have to take the cat out and put another tube in.

You asked for thoughts dude, thats all I'm giving. If you don't like my thoughts ............

Please explain why I could have done the coring wrong.
lets see you get out of that one gf :lol

i had a similar problem with mine earlier this year but after mine cut out it wouldn't start again, tried allsorts but in the end my problem whent away as quick as it appeared :banghead
good luck mate :thumbup

What happened to yours brooksy?
first day i went out after fitting the cored exhausts the bike cut out at traffic lights after a run of around 7 miles and would not start with symptons of a flat batt, eventually came back to life after around 25 mins. rode it back home pulled up at the garage and it cut out again :banghead re-fitted the standard exhausts and the bike ran sweet as, after a couple of weeks decided to give them another try and not a problem for the next 6 weeks before i sold them and fitted a set of Akras, those cored cans are way too loud :megaphone
hope you get it sorted TBH i dont think its a problem with the cans and still dont think mine was either just so happens the problem occurred after fitting them. good luck:thumbup

I experienced the same when I fitted a set of Ape Racing cored cans. It engine kept cutting out if yer snapped the throttle shut.

I've no idea what caused it but I just took them off and stuck ma Mivv's back on wae nae probs.

Brooksy thats the exact symptoms I am experiencing, maybe I will have to see if I can get hold of some different slip ons..but like you say it might not be anything to do with the cans,I have got a PC3 on its way so maybe that could help..as regarding the cored cans I like the loudness ha ha,nobody pulls out on you.

Just a little update for this,I have installed my pc3 and uploaded one of there maps that's close to what I'm running and I've had no problems what so ever, infact it pull like **** through the mid range and it's wanting to bring the front up so easy..no I have a dilemma,do I go back to the dealer who supposedly changed my map over to number 2 and ask to see it on the machine or not?

hmm no expert but from what i understand switching to map 2 is not a cure all doofer. Dont you need to set the o2 accordingley ?
using a pc allows so many more changes / adjustments that you will never get with a simple map change ?

also, i guess some dyno time would make things even better..... but what do you want / where do you stop... thats for you to decide

:)
