calling all you techy boys, just put a secondhand ( tested good ) coilpack on, tried to fire up and NOWT, no spark or anything !!
Above my head but my mate asked me if the T has a tilt/trip switch type thing ? Also anyone know the "pinouts" for the ecu ??
Any help greatly appreciated !!

Alright Dave , i think theres a tilt switch under the rear seat , im sure someone will put me right if im wrong , cant help other than that mate , sorry .

Thats a right ******* . would it help if you put my ecu in yours to double check ?

kind offer Sean but i dont know if that would do some damage to yours, and i dont want that !!

Have you swapped the leads as one coil is for rear the the other is for the front? if there not in the right order it will be 6 degreese out and wont fire

Ah just read, no spark. Is it turning over?

Usual check the fuses.

Also have you checked the 12V in and the 2 triggers into the coils?

yeah checked all those mate, i'm sure the leads are the right way round, if i swap em round and spin it over will that do any damage ??

No, it just changes the firing time by 6 degreese.

When mine went i rode it for 20 miles on 1 cylinder. you should be fine :)

Your getting me worried now!

if its the ECU, ill be chasing Aprilia, as my bike isnt even 3yrs old yet :|

why did you have to change it dave?

this is said where?

ah, in the other thread. didnt read that one.

who,s tested the coil pal?

the guy that sold it?
No no G, my mechanic mate, the original coil went pop and melted a bit !! The rac guy who came out reckoned it was the coil too. Its all slightly mysterious to a non techo like me..

Sean , if we do it i think we should put my ecu in yours and see if yours fails to start rather than the other way round, if we put yours in mine and there is another underlying problem it could screw your ecu...not good !

i know im going on a bit but bear with me guys, ( ive got a trackday coming up ! ) Do these bikes have a self diagnostics thing going on, ive tried going into the ecu diagnostics thing but it asks for an "A" and "B" code... is there such a thing or is it something only an Aprilia dealer would know ?

Theirs a chap on here called charleytuono Dave, ask him. He knows his Aprilia **** maaaaan.
What makes you think its the coil ? If theirs NOTHING happening have you pushed the kill switch in, or stand down or summat daft happened when you've been messing about mate.
Sounds like you two are a pair of chuckle brothers getting in a right cerfuffle bud, chill and step back, put the old coil back on and check for a spark and start again etc.

In finest Corporal Jones styleeee, 'don't panic don't panic'.
