That's quite an adventure just to get your new bike home. A bit too much adventure for me!

Rob :)

Hey Harry

I've got a standard 01 mille. Before than had an 07 zx-10r. Much prefer the aprilia, the low and midrange is better, and that's where you use it on the road really. Also as you say, our roads are twisty and tight so having a good handling bike is fantastic! The bikes seem pretty easy to mod all in all. I haven't gone all out on mine yet (two kids at the mo) but will get there. Bought some carbon fiber for it, power commander, aprilia titanium can and eprom, 13mm rear master cylinder... It's done 74,000kms and still runs flawlessly...

Oh also Adam at MCDU in Chch is good for getting parts. As I understand it he's the dealer principle for Aprilia in NZ so he gets all the originals. Still, I would compare cost against AF1 in america, last time I looked if you were buying a few pieces it was much cheaper to buy through them even with the freight costs...

Cheers Mark, Yeah I have been in to see Adam several times. He's pretty decent to deal with, unlike the guy at eMoto. A new front brake lever only cost $40 from Adam, and he's ordered me a new Motobatt for the bike as I'd like a bit more CCA. Adam's also importing some funky Chinese bikes at the moment. I particularly like the new version of a Honda monkey-bike he was pulling out of its crate last time I was there.

Cheers,

Harry

Yeah the battery is definitely something to do!! I've got a motobatt MBTX12U and that does the job, rated at 200CCA... The latest Performance Bikes magazine out here has an article in it by some Aprilia Guru in the UK. 13 Modifications to transform your Mille. Battery was one of the things in there... I was thinking of scanning it an uploading it here if people were interested...

Yeah, definitely takes a while to get decent magazines here... Was a good article though :)
