Multistrada wasnt even considered when my GS was built. Curious to know are the GS's you are talking about the new 1200's?

Most of us think ourselves better and faster riders than average. Most of us keep our little pride and joy toyes in our garages and take them on sunny days, going on a ride, with no need to do so, spreading noise, fear and mechanical parts through quiet villages whilst dressed in romper suits.

I disagree, its not what you do, or what you wear when doing it. Its the attitude you do it with.
We choose to ride rolling physics equations, instead of the safe conformity of a cage. To challenge ourselves to grow in understanding and control of the equation, at our own risk, to better ourselves and expand our limits.

if i said that most white van drivers are cocks, there would be a significant number of them who are/were good drivers that would now be upset and hold a grudge against bikers.
no. most riders are not cocks, it is simply a minority group who think they can get away riding like the road is their own personal race track which gives bikers in general a bad name.
stop spreading such nonsense that is simply untrue, if you truly believe it then you do not belong on a bike or on a bike forum.

Its my opinion, it hasnt just changed miraculously, I just cant be arsed to get into an internet argument about it.
I tend to ride most days, social domestic, pleasure commuting holidays etc.
I am very wary of bikers in general, especially the ones that pop out on sunny week ends dressed in garrish leathers and ride in groups. I dont dig the whole pack mentality thing, or the accessorising, or the garrish leathers or the daft ride outs.
I just ride to go places and enjoy myself.
The moment you consider yourself part of group and start slagging another one off, you automatically become somebody else's ***** too. I am sure if you went on the bmw GSer forums you would find posts slagging off the attitude of sportsbike riders...

I like the odd thoughtful solo ride as much as anyone, the freedom clearing my head etc.

this however does not excuse coming to a motorbike forum and saying something like most bikers are cocks. thats just stupid and makes me think you are one of those idiots who tries to piss everyone off so they can feel hated.
as for this specific topic, i dont think all GS riders are cocks anymore than all sportsbike riders are, i do however think that because of the publicity the GS and similar bikes got from certain TV shows, alot of people new to the whole biking thing went out and bought them and consequently are causing problems for everyone else because they rushed into something they are not comfortable with doing in a safe fashion

Well you should have been with us yesterday.
You wouldnt have been alone (GS, ZZR, VARADERO, SPRINT ST & a SPEEDE TRIPLE). I had flourescant waterproof trousers like what they wear for roadworks and it wasn't just raining we has gale force winds and hailstones thrown in for good measure. I had to stick a new tyre on the GS so I me my mates at Tyndrum (middle of scotland near Glencoe) one of them literaly wrang out his gloves as they were saturated. Went from near Glasgow to Ullapool the scenic route cos one of the guys missed our normal summer run.

Had a really nice ride in today. The sun was shining, the roads are good and not too busy. I had my wing man on his CBR... perfect, just the way i LOVE IT.
BTW we saw 6 bike today, all of them said hello.... apart from the two separate occasions when we came upon GS riders... cocks! The first one i accidentally said hello to, as i didn't see it was a GS rider until it was too late! OMG I swear GS riders ride with there noses up in the air!
