Forum track day get together this spring, fancy it?

After speaking to me norvan mate, we thought a forum get together at a track day event this spring to blast the cobwebs off ready for summer would be a good idea. No date or track in mind at the moment but from past experience, if we book a large group onto a focused events one they may discount the price in some way!

So, if you fancy it post up a hell yeah along with your preferred track of choice. I'm guessing late March early April would be ok but bear in mind it will probably be a mid week shindig.

We will go on the majority for the track choice & will then look into / post available dates, which again we will go with the majority.

Is a great way of meeting like minded people, a few T's on track would be good & you'll get to push the limits a little more than on the road. If response is poor on here, I'm sure some of the guys on rsv zone & the ape perfomance forum would be up for it too. After my chats with Griff this week I'm sure he'd be up for it as a rider this time & not pit crew, lol.

I'm easy for tracks, would choose Brands GP but I think a central meet would suit more so over to you guys!

hell yeah

Silverstone GP layout would be first choice, then probably Donnington. Both provide proper garages that we could stake as Tzone territory

I've found Focussed Events difficult to get a discount out of, stating that they have their dedicated GP card scheme. Hottrax and No Limits are much more amiable, 10% being the norm

There was some talk on the AP forum of organising something but as far as I know no arrangments been made

I loves a sparra-organised-do (although no more ***** weather this time pls), will have to check dates etc but I'm in

Open to suggestions on organisers, you're the experts. Happy with either of those tracks. Done silverstone which was sweet & always wanted to do donny until it shut but noticed they started running again last year :)

Yep. Up for that. Brands GP would be first choice then Silverstone. Weekdays also best for me too. Need to know dates soon as so I can book off.

Generally weekdays are better for me then I don't have to use any family brownie points (an account which is always in the red). Plus they're cheaper and less busy

One point of note with Donny; they run quite a few restricted noise days (98db). These are not a massive problem for the twins but IL4s often break the drive-by test (although there's ways to get around it by backing off on the straight). Just make sure you bring your baffles. They always appear a bargain price (normally below £100). What's not so obvious it that they are obliged to run four groups. This makes the sessions a lot shorter (although the groups are the same size). I would'nt completely discount them but be aware you do get a lot less tracktime with these.

All of that said, it's one hell of track. It flows like a rollercoaster, smooth and precise wins the day at Donny

'smooth and precise wins the day at Donny'

No point in me going there then :-]

Like me, I'm cack handed and overtake on the brakes or gas. Donny's my slowest track by some way but the grin factor is enormous. redgate-hollywood-craner curves- the business

I thought the trick was to just jump on and go fer it, like that Italian chap seems to do everytime he's there.

I think theirs more chance of a better turn up if the track is round the midlands meself. Donny's a boring as ***** 120 miles for me so I'd probably have to put the T in the van. I've rode there many times and nearly fell asleep everytime on the way back.

If its a Friday I'd make a real trip out of it. Go Thursday evening, tea and couple of beers, track Friday, chill/beers, ride home Saturday at leeesure. Now thats what I call a plan.

ROBBO,,,,,,,,,,you listening sparra :megaphone

I would be up for it if it was at a midlands track

Oulton is 230 miles from me already

Cadwell 276 miles

And finances would dictate also as im a builder with an empty order book for the whole of 2011

Yep I'm listening. Donny seems to fall on a Tuesday with most organisers. Focused events got one on 29th march at £119 & no limits one on 19th april price tbc, which would be my preferred choice of the 2 keeping fingers crossed for the weather. Their are obviously other tracks & I'm sure more dates will be announced as early in the year yet.

Any more thoughts or takers. Spoke to griff earlier, he's in & said he'd pack the tool kit just incase!

Got cadwell park on good Friday 22nd april with no limits? I can't do as that's the date my wife is due with my third child but nowt stopping the rest of you boys enjoying. Few in place at silverstone gp but again fall mid week.

Me too nobba so may the hunt for one continue. Can help if you like, lol

You designated me to designate you as team leader though :-]

If it is a Friday it would be a bit more tempting for anyone with a bit of a trek. Some could come down on the day and stop overnight for a bevy. On the Saturday, weather and opinion permitting we could have a leesurely ride out somewhere.

If we say £100 ish for the track, £60 for 2 nights digs, then its fuel and grub and ale on top. Around £200-£250 max. Thats what I'm imagining. Thursday night, Friday track and another night.

Whatever, plenty of time.

Last week in April, first in May no good to me either.

That's that sorted then. You are the master. I love a challenge. Midlands, April, Friday, under £100, easy.
