Both ideas are OK.
Those who are not under the thumb can stop out & go on the lash.
Those that are, can meet up at a pre-determined time at hartside & enjoy the ride.
Penrith is OK, plenty of pubs & eating establishments.
I stopped there last year when doing the coast 2 coast push bike ride.
Not that I saw much of it, my legs were like jelly and after a few beers I was wrecked.
There are some steep banks when there is no V twin to shove you up.
Doing it again this year, but along the Hadrians wall route.

I'd love to come but the date is a no go for me as got best man duties that weekend.
As stated, you'll never find a date or location to suit all, so those that can make it, enjoy, ride safe & keep it sunny side up!

R man, it hasn't petered out,just trying to guage interest, the date was set for 21/22 may, if there are more people that want to go on 14/15 instead, then we can change it..... its a democracy ..VOTE... the weekend with the most votes is the one we'll do.. fair enough.

Wisnae takkin a dig Windy min, it had just gone all quiet thats all and I was keen to take the hurl doon Sooth so was needin tae plan ahead likes.
My votes the weekend 14/15th....

The Fens.
A few years ago.the Ducati up North guys organised a 'Raid the Lakes'.About 50 bikes turned up for rideouts in the day and piss ups at night.We were all based around the Glenridding area.Loads of B&B's and a posh hotel for the more well healed.We went Maytime,...weather was great.The only downer was that we got tangled up with the traffic for the Appleby hosre fair.

ahm easy for any weekend either side, jist nae the 20th or 27th May cos ahl be awa fryin ma erse in hopefully sunnier climes wi Wee Morag that week
