Well just had a first look at the electrics and whipped the battery out , brown plug in the tail so there is probably one in the v as well solenoid looking a little worse fore ware so that's on the shopping list .
has a ytx 14 batt in it so not to bad . where is the best place to get a solenoid to :thumbup

hi just got one from webmoto 28 quid delivered , just pulled the old one out it was original 50amp one , amazing that it had lasted so long

going to cut the brown connectors out but will check the output before I do

I`m just about to do the same on mine. I think griff at perfomance aprilia does a 150 solenoid for it for about £30. Also on my list ;)

well looks like the battery is past its best lucky i have a brand new one in the shed as the firestorm uses the same ytx 14

New solenoid arrived today thank you wemoto fantastic service , put it in and new batt fitted said a little prayer and pressed the starter .
its alive fired straight away after a week of standing ,got my multi meter out expecting low output amazing but no 14.5 no lights and 13 .6 with full beam on . showing 14.1 0n dash. very pleased felt brown connector in tail it felt a little warm after five minutes so there is some resistance there. so far so good next job to do the plugs

one of my mille's, a 2000 model has the original solenoid on it. i've had the bike for almost 4 years now and i've serviced it for two years before i bought it from a friend. i think it's down to luck with these solenoids. i've bought two 150a solenoids, fitted one to my trackbike but left the original on the road one. it fires up perfectly. the spare is under the saddle so if it breaks i can replace it in under 10 mins on the road :)

yea, good idea if you have the room to keep the old one to hand just in case, although I guess if you fit the 100/150 amp solenoid you'll never need it hopefully!

i believe i haven't expressed myself correctly. on the road bike i still have the original 50a solenoid and it works perfectly! the new one is under the seat as a spare. as i've said, i know the last 6 years of that bike's history first hand, never had a problem with the solenoid! on the track bike the solenoid gave up and i had to change it! :)

Hey VTR what ampage is the wemoto solenoid? couldnt find out from the website. Didnt want to end up with just a pattern 50amp one!

Hi just got myself a RSV Factory and I haven't stopped hearing about this brown connector where and what is it and do kneed to replace or keep an eye on it

hi steve r and rat
the wemoto one is 100/150 amp according to there website , great service from them too.
the brown conecters are big and brown and tend to melt if you are unlucky according to what gen of bike you have , you could have 1 or 2 of these things .
there is plenty of info on this problem on this website .
all the best VTR BALLS
