Hi,

Just been to mission motorcycles and asked for 15w50 semi and they gave me silkolene comp 4 15w-50*and said it's semi but says synthetic, I asked the garage and he said yes its semi because it's ester based I just want to make sure it is semi.

Cheers

Not sure if you can get it but, Spectro makes a great 15/50 semi synth. Its called Golden Spectro. I just changed the oil in the T with a K/N oil filter. No slips on clutch, gear changes are smooth and I think the motor is a touch quieter. Semi synthetic is a sort of cross between the two types. IF you have to top off and cant find full synthetic or a semi you can add regular old dino oil to top it off. You cant do that with a full synthetic as they dont like to mix. This is what he meant when he said it has an ester base. I usually buy four quarts so I have spare layin about. good luck and ffs dont overtighten the oil filter bolts. Snug ,not yard ape tight.

Nah.:no
Loads of 15/50 motorcycle oil about.Take yer pick from Mobil 1,Motul,Silkolene and Putoline.Have a look around the 'net for best prices. The Silkolene description is a wee bit confusing, but it should be ok in the T.

Forgot to ask is it Comp 4 or Pro 4?

Nah, no? Because you cant get it over there or you think its not as good as the ones you mention? Its a good lube, know from experience been in every ride Ive had. But yes, you can get a deal on anything on the web. It was a mere suggestion. I trust it. But will run the others if I got a deal. Its okay to seek out a break these days as the tax man and oil guys are the only rich fooks about.

I meant No,its not available over here. The only Spectro products I can ever remember were spray paints. It may be a mighty fine lube, but I've never seen it in the UK.
