Engine oil

I have just had a major service done. While i was looking through the invoice it says that they have filled it up with semi-synth 10w-40 oil.
It says in the manual to use fully-synth 15w-50 oil.
Is that likely do do the bike any harm? and should i return to get them to change it for the recommended grade?

I don't think it makes any difference, as long as its motorcycle oil, but I'm sure someone will know for definite

I always stick to 15/50 and use rock oil , a lot of bods use 10 /40 .

I don't really think it makes a lot of difference unless you are in a really hot climate or really cold climate .

like sheep says so long as its decent motorcycle oil and not car oil .!! which does make a difference with the life and action of the clutch plates .

Spoke to the mechanic, he says he did put 15w50 in it, but, as its his brand new computer system, he hasn't got round to adding 15w50 to his choices on the system.
So alls good
