You can core you own. There is a lot of junk inside the can to remove. You will need:
1)drill with bits to drill out can and strap rivets (dont forget the one that attached to the rear pegs)
2)Something to pound the catalytic converter out of the link pipe. I used a large flat-head screwdriver and a rubber mallet. This takes forever and is the longest part.
3)A cutter that will cut metal. This is for cutting the exhaust port at the rear of the can from the internal housings/baffels that are not needed. I used a Dremel tool with a cutting disk.
4)60mm internal diameter perforated core, I forget the length
5)Packing material to repack the can with, the origional material is not enough
6)rivits and gun to reassemble the can
The whole job can be done for under $100 USD total if you have all the tools and only need supplies including the welding fee to weld the core onto the link pipe if you cannot weld, I could not.
Be sure to get the dealer to switch the bike over to Map 2 soon after coring the cans.
