i think you have to consider the wind blast at speed i fitted a ermax screen to my t it makes a big difference dont think you can get much to fit the trumpet

D day tomorrow. Has got test rides booked back to back on the speed & street. I'm going with him on the ape so he can use that too, then I get to see what the trumpets are all about aswell

Guy in the shop has a wager on him going for the street out of the three. I have a wager on him going for a T as when he came out the shop, sat on mine & said it just felt right.

Yep, cold & grey but dry. He rode all three bikes back to back. Tuono he thought was great but a bit on the wild side. Speed he found more manageable but had a hidden wild side if you needed it. Street after 30 mins wanted to take it back.
He did a deal on the Speed in the end. Got a good p/x offer for the Z & knocked em down a little more on the price so he's well chuffed. Felt the Tuono was a bit hardcore & needed full dedication all the time to tame. Was looking at the standard R model which was only available in white (which I have) or black, which he didn't like. Felt more comfortable & in control on the Speed, which if I'm honest, is probably the best bike to suit his riding style & requirements.
I had a go on all of them too. Speed had a good motor but felt wider, lower & heavier (which it isn't) compared to the Tuono. Street, I'm surprised it's their best seller as wasn't a fan. Finish looked cheap, motor was better than a jap inline 4 but still had to work it hard, wasn't too impressed with the riding position & felt like a commuter bike. Handling was pin sharp though.
I did eye up a couple of Super Dukes they had on offer. God it looks extreme. Sales guy said when I have an hour spare to give him a call & go for a blast!!!

ive had a couple of 955 daytona's, in fact ive still got one as well as the T.
I have to agree that the T is a lot wilder (which I like) but you cant go wrong with the trumpet, its alot easier to live with when your not in the mood to go bonkers.
also I have found them ultra reliable, top choice, he won't be dissapointed

Have owned a 955 Speed, two Streets and now a Tuono, plus a mate rides a 1050 Speed. In my opinion, the best bike, for what your old mans looking for, is the Street. The first one in owned had Daytona R suspension, wheels and brakes and I've never ridden and better handling bike before or since! Standard model rides well, is comfortable, plenty of power, easily comparable to the Z and is far better built. For my money the Tuono is more involved, I wouldn't give her up for anything now, but she's harder to cruise around in than the Street.
