I just bought a 2004 Factory with Ackaprovic open cans. Last owner could not tell me what map was active in the ECU. Seems to run OK though. Any easy way to tell which map is active? If map 2 disregards the O2 sensor info could I disconnect it and see if it makes a difference? Any advice appreciated.

A good question and one i'd like to know the answer to as well, i bought my 04 Factory with the akro's fitted, and in the bag of bit's and bob's that came with it was a blanking bolt to replace the O2 sensor, it seems to run fine but does pop a bit on the overun - think that's just the throttle bodies needing balancing though??
It would be great to know if there's a way to check Map1 or Map2 without being robbed off your local dealer?

02 sensor is only ignored by the mapping not by the ecu diags so it has to remain in place unless you use a Lambda fooler such as with a PC3.
Only way to tell which map the bike is ony is with an Axone from a dealer or independant with the gear. (griff etc)
Not only do you need Map/variant 2 active but the map needs to be the latest as well if you want it to run right. For 04 bikes the latest map is 2005. If you search i posted the bin numbers of the maps that should be installed.
Tb's should always be checked for sync after a map change.
