Ok"¦..I love my Tuono but its startin to do my face in!!! New battery, new reg/rec and its still the same!!! Went to Inverness on it yesterday to get it MOT'd"¦"¦awesome ride, like I always say, ******* amazing machine to ride, anyway"¦..MOT no probs had a few stop starts on the way home for closed canal bridges and roadworks etc"¦"¦.stopped to fuel up once I'd got back to Fort Bill and the ***** wouldnt start"¦"¦.dead!!!! Just a nasty grindy loud pfffttttt!! I'm now guessing its the stator"¦.after replacing the battery and reg/rec"¦..******* typical!!! Is it a big job? Can it be repaired and which bits do I need? Have seen genuine Aprilia ones online for 300 sheets"¦"¦.**** me. Once its fixed the fuckers for sale"¦..had enough, gonna buy a Monster! **** Aprilias. I need a bike I can trust. No it’s not a not a big job , I used the electrex g814 generator (search for G814 Generator a few folks sell it )

Still going after 1500 miles now fingers crossed .and yea it does dent your confidence in the bike ....mine failed waiting to board the Chunnel on the way to Monza ,holiday scrapped :banghead

So pissed off with this bike……its totally love/hate, bummer you had to scrap a holday because of it!!! You musta been gutted, thats just no fun is it? Cant deal with unreliable ****, I ride in some remote places and need to know I can get home!
 
Hands up I didnt do the change my Brother IL did he is way better on the spanners than me, you might need a gasket for the gen cover and of course new oil/filter.
We decided to cut out the brown connector and hard wire the stator in (then cover with shrink wrap) but some people dont like the idea of doing that and use bullet connectors instead.
I also bought a new larger 12ah battery to give the stator more to do but I dont know that it will stop it happening again .
Must admit I keep looking at the Z1000sx ,love the T but dont know if i trust touring on it
