Has this ever happened to anyone before? (2008 RSV-R) twin
While riding, the bike shuts off completely just like a switch was pulled. After coasting to the side of the road, I shut the key
off and wait for 1 minute. Then I just restart the bike and proceed like nothing happened at all.?
This may happen once a day or may not happen for a month. This happens more often in the hot summer months, and it is
difficult to determine if it is a fuel or electrical problem. I have had it to the dealer twice already for a diagnostic but nothing was found.
The bike has 12,000 miles and has a new battery, new stator and voltage regulator. Any ideas?? Bob j.

Had a similar issue on a gixxer - turned out it was a faulty tip over sensor (sits on top of the battery clamp in RSVRs I believe), every time I went beyond 40 degree lean or the bike would have a jolt it would shut itself off - NOT fun. Easy fix though.

On the subject of faults/diagnostic codes/etc. does Aprilia have a diagnostic mode for fault codes (on Suzuki it's an easy mod and it shows fault codes on the dash)?

On Gen1 there are two wires behind the RH seat trim panel, one has a plug the other a socket. connect these then turn ignition on, it will now show any fault codes

I had a similar problem only when the bike was hot and usually when downshifting.
On the way back from the IOM TT I took it into Aprilia Performance Tamworth, I told Griff about it, and he said it's probably got the wrong Base map, although it was on map 2 for the Akros it's Base map was wrong the map wad updated it never done it again.
