Beamish Trophy Trial - One for the old farts

Dunno about tricks of the trade...... but i can show you how to fall off if that helps...

MCN today has a test on the honda CRF..... they are riding on the Viking Way in Lincs - claim 100 miles of green lane. Anyone now if this is "Legal" as i cant find any recent info on it which tends to suggest it isnt ? (nowt on Trailwise either)

Aye and am a bit of an expert at that anall. :yes

Cheers Aldo & Keith..... seems like most of it is for walkers only... bugger.

So a bit missleading from MCN me thinks...... nothing new there then - surprised they didnt recommend a triumph whatever for the trip !

Slomo,
its not about getting there first, its about getting there in style.

Some of this modern stuff has no soul - I think we all agree the Tuono is an exception.

Like Brooksy, as a kid, I was brought up on old british stuff, flying around the fields & heaps.

It was a challenge to keep them going, especially on no money.

Saying that, I have just purchased this, to re-live my youth with Brooksy, if he gets his short arm into his deep pocket.

It looks like another trip to the Manx next year -

Olaf min, that's what I was saying. I prefer the style of the MIJ bikes. Nothing about coming first:)
I'll need to get my dt175mx up and running noo then.

I remember the old DT`s very well.

I had a couple of 175`s & a 125, the model before the mx though, with the low front mudguard.

My mate had a mx & it went well, you will have to get it sorted & have some fun before its worth too much.

PS, I get your drift but what does MIJ mean ?

PS, I get your drift but what does MIJ mean ? - am guessing at Made in Japan ?

slomo - DT175MX 's are getting quite sort after now...... drooled over them big style when i was at school.

Olaf - somewhere for you to play on your new toy:

£5 membership, then £15 for the day

Pity its in rochdale (51 miles from me)...... dont suppose theres anywhere up near you like this is there ?

Brooksy, I hope all your PPE does not have DCC, or NCB written all over it, like some tight wads on here.

Pit wellies may be OK for walking the dog, but the paparatzy will get you.:lol:lol

the Thundercat has now gone and hoping to have my bike for this weekend, currently in negotiations on a couple but the below is the one i want

failing that there is a decent DRZ waiting in the wings.

Mr B, I was out testing the DRZ at the week end.

I was on an old gravelly track & thought I would do a bit of experimenting.

I gave it a hand full of throttle in first, expecting it to spin / wheely a bit as it normally does.

The feckin thing reared up so fast, I almost flipped it, dont know how it didnt.

When I shut the throttle it went down so abrubtly I nearly went over the bars.

Over in a split second, but it would have been one for Youve Been Framed.

You need to re-calibrate your reactions on these things.

Looks good Mr Brooks.......

Olaf - :whoop ...... Good lad ! pity you dont have a vid of it

:)
