Got my baglux tankcover. Not sure where the central strap should go. Does it go round the back of the airbox or between the bits of engine (air inlets maybe, I dunnno what they're called) that I can see if I look underneath the airbox?? See pics.

Also it's a bit loose on the front/top of the tank where the indent is. Anyone else got one and does theirs fit properly or not. I'm thinking I may have a different year one!
 
I've got one fitted to my 02/03 and it looks to fit tighter than in your pics,strange cos I thought the earlier tanks were 2 litres bigger.

It should pull down snugger ? than that,then take any play out off the headstock strap checking you can still get maximun bar movement ( the buckle may touch the top yoke on full right lock)

The central strap goes between the 2 throttle bodies and doesn't have to be tight. The ears are clamped by the side panel screws.

Think it may be for a slightly smaller tank. Only really shows at the bottom where there is now only a tiny bit of tank showing. It fits good enough to use properly and will fit better once I've ridden the bike and got some heat through it. When did the tank change size then? It was sold as an '02 and mine is an '01, didn't think there was any difference.
 
i lifted the tank & connected the strap underneath loosely... then closed the lid & let the strap make its own route... then gentley pulled the strap tight... i think it ends up around the upper rear airbox... with the headstock strap... make sure the strap goes between the throttle cables & headstock otherwise itll make a cables rub on the speedo !!

also dont forget to undo the rear bolts when lifting the tank for maintaince otherwise you'll rip the holles open !!

ps it aint been crashed... lol... the previous owner decided too paint it all gloss black... so the panels are off being repainted back too original !!

yes mine definitely doesn't fit as well as yours, it looks a bit too small for the tank. I suppose on the bright side that means i should be able to do more miles to a tank lol! I'll post the finished pic once i get to a pc. Also tidied up my wiring slightly hope i didn't damage anything!
 
apparently they didn't change the size of the tank. All plastic ones are the same size. Mine's plastic so it should fit. Just need to get some heat in it. Unfortunately with the weather and where I've been working this week I haven't ridden it!! pic of it fitted now.. BTW nice exhaust!!
