Badger I've started this airbox mod following your instructions, and got a question. How hard should it be to lower the tank over the foam as mine seems really tight and started to pull the foam away from the lower airbox :dunno so I stopped before it ruined it all. Will it be ok when it's all smeared with vaseline (haven't got that yet) :dunno

some photo's of where I'm at now.

Does not look bad Sprock's, the tank is a tight fit as it compresses the foam, maybe once the vaseline is smeared on it will help it to seat, the foam does look a bit too thick mind you, it might be an idea to trim the top edge to an angle to allow the tank to seat against it without pulling the foam, is the top of the filter section glued on?

The section at the back of the box looks like it needs trimming as does the section at the front, just do this a bit at a time till you are happy with the fit, always bear in mind that the tank will compress it, which is what you want to get a good tight seal, also the tank pushes down on the top of the filter to secure it in place.

You are nearly there, was that a camping matt you used?

Any more questions fire away:thumbup

Sounds and looks like DIY SOS mate :devious

But fair play, if it saves ya money and works, well done fella :thumbup

Foam is 10mm sticky backed and I haven't glued any of it :biggrin I have put double two layers on like yours but dont know if your foam was that thick :dunno

Nice one sprocker :thumbup you have been busy... now we will have to have a sound off :thumbup

Rene v's badger's box :thumbup Well done though it looks a really neat job :thumbup

There is not a lot of noise from my mod, personally i would rather not have the noise from an airbox under my nose, there are occasions when it is nice to listen to, but i soon got fed up of it on a trip, i would rather hear the exhaust behind me than the airbox.

Each to their own:thumbup

Looking good Sprocker, your going to look well dodgy asking for a dozen tubs of vaseline :pirate:supergay:lol:lol:lol
