Erm.....erm... I cant remember if I did come to think of it

:eek: i dont know if you should or shouldn't but i asked about what i would need to do the job and someone told me to use thread lock so no doubt someone will put us right :dunno:confused

Hmmm,OK i have been looking at the air box pics and i have had a thought but there is normally something i have overlooked but anyway here goes, so airbox mod, off comes the top of the airbox a seal is made around the base of the airbox and the tank thus increasing the size of the air chamber air now comes in through the filter and into the bigger airbox, Now what if you were to get rid of the airbox all together and put filters on the stacks themselves then the whole world becomes an airbox...:devious

or am i just getting it all wrong....

You mean like this :devious

Doh...! yeah i thought i had invented something then, yep thats pretty much what i was thinking but imagined a filter on each stack for some reason, nice job that fella....:thumbup

I guess you could put a filter on each one if you could get one's small enough to fit :devious ive seen open top velocity stacks with mesh over them but thats a bit risky getting shi#e into the carbs :thumbup

Ram air make ones to fit straight on the stacks, and steve these dont have carbs, fuel injected mate:thumbup

My mistake m8 :thumbup wen your as old as me you get use to saying carbs :pirate:laugh fuel injected carbs :confused:roll:thumbup

in that case i had better tell you it doesn't have points or a condenser either:devious:thumbup

rsvsteve ok even though I like of what you did with your large filter and then the breather filter, doesnt this defeat the whole ram-air aspect of the intake tract? Now I am not sure that this matters at most speeds the sane side of 100mph but just thinking outloud

I can only quote for the recomendation from a good friend that the original air box is very restrictive and i can say that after doing the mod it has increased the power suficient enough to know and realise that the air flow has been increased ..... its still ram air and in fact when you look at the difference in the standard air box and the mod ive done you can see the air volume has been increased to a much larger volume...... im no tech head but to me its done the job and im quite happy with what its done regarding the free'er flowing air intake .

Its not for everyone but what ever floats your boat eh , i would recomend it and after all its a replica of something thats in prodution so it cant be that bad :thumbup

This is badger's air box mod post so id better scarper :- (

Tiz no problem mate, threads like this with input from everyone can give the info to members and they can take from it what they want and make an informed decision whether something is for them or not, does not matter to me dude:thumbup

Anyway Sprocker have you not finished and tested it yet:dunno

Is that it?
What happened next. . . . . ?

I'm trying to understand and decide what airbox mod to do, come to think of it I'll post a new thread with some more detail.

I got a Hooked air kit fitted now :devious

The Badger Box is a cheap alternative that works great if your on a budget :thumbup

Anyone else done this? In my mind mind, and theoretically, it should work a treat......

However, in practise?
