Now we all have are issues with the police. Some hate, some dont like, or would want to kill the poor ******* that stops us for no reason. But on the odd occassion they do do good. 2 years ago, I had my lovely Ducati 748 stolen from me, on my birthday of all days!

Well GUESS WHAT! I got a call from pc plod to say that low an behold they found my beloved duke, after 2 years and a zx6r and a rsv mille later they tell me they found it! an in 1 piece too. so all in all the police do have their good points, not many but a few :biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:biggrin:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug:doug
 
Only kidding...great stuff...BUT have you already had an insurance pay-out for the Duke?
 
new boots, i didnt get paid out by the insurance company, they said because i couldnt prove the bike had been stolen, they would pay out. so what do you, i cancelled the insurance, reported the duke stolen to the police and dvla, an now as times gone on, i now have my rsv, and a duke, i think i've died an gone to heaven :biggrin:thumbup

well maybe a brand new xr 400 and xr 250 will turn turn up on my door step then i can say the same it's only bin 6 years wishful thinking:thumbup
 
Thats fantastic news, glad for ya, its better you didnt go through insurance as it won't be recorded as a stolen recovered:)

no way thats a wicked story, i bet the person who had the bike was gutted haha!!

Well mate congrats on the return of a surely well and gone bike.. . so you would have thought. Be nice to have it tucked back in the garage again & the keys in yer skyrocket....certainly the longest odds & you won that one ol mate. Choice :thumbup

WTF? It has to be recovered to be proven stolen or what? What are you supposed to do, keep paying insurance on it for two years, put in a claim now and still get nothing because you got the bike back?

Well guys, once the plod have finished finger printing the bike, an running all sorts of test an enquiries, which should only last about a week or so, then they'll send me a letter saying its free to be collected, an then I go down to where its being kept, prove i own it ( easy! ) and ride it away if i can, or stick in a van an off we go :biggrin as far as the insurance company goes, i cancelled the policy as they were being :jack and got my beloved rsv. I'm not sure if im gunna track the 748 or the mille, im gunna see what state the dukes in before I get too carried away :thumbup

I couldnt agree more! who ever the :jack was who took the bike in the first place, I hope he or she dies a slow tortured painful death :angry I think I mite do the lottery this week who knows what could happen :biggrin

As for a bike thiefs long slow death.. i think i'd start with the nail gun first :rantthen work yer way up to bigger stuff :fire

I think being crucified would be the way to go, using nail guns, fire an all things nasty you could think, any suggestions :biggrin an speaking of suggestions, anyone got any ideas what I should do with the duke, if its in good nick? :thumbup
