Hello, newbie here. does anyone have any info for the 2019 caponord rally?
I'm curious as to what the upgrades would be. I'm soon to be in the market and I'm really wanting a capo rally. I see great deals on 2017's. Just wondering what they will improve upon. I can't find anything on a 2019 capo. I hope they're not doing away with it. There's only 2 things I'd like to see different. 1. I wish it was shaft drive(I think I can get over that). 2. I'm concerned about dealer support meaning having enough dealers around so I don't have to make a day trip just to go in for service etc. Currently there isn't one in my area but I'm going to be moving so that might not be an issue either. Please give me your 2 cents. thx

I was under the impression the Capo as we know her has been discontinued.
I have a 2015 TP but haven’t owned it long enough to answer your other questions, sorry.
It is fun though!

2016 was the last year for the Rally. It has been discontinued. I believe they continue to sell that model in the US for 2017 and 2018, but those are holdover models. The rally's are all the same and only differ slightly from the touring model.

it's a fantastic bike and very dependable. I live 10 hours from the nearest dealer and haven't had to go in yet. I do most of my own work, so it's not really a big deal. You really only need a dealer for computer troubles.

G'day Throttlefish,

I think you have answered your question...... dealership support is critical and sadly, Aprilia ownership's biggest drawback for you US guys.

The Rally/TP 1200 was a great bike to ride, but forget about same day servicing - they take a minimum of 8 hours (assuming all goes well) to do the 12,000mle major service (costing approx $950US). The minor service at 6k mls was about half, but you may find no one knows the bike or they won't have the special tools........ have a read over in the 2014-2017 AF1 sponsored forum...;).... if you live near AF1 you will be right for servicing/parts.

Sure agree with you though..... looks sexy, rides nice, brilliant bike......... but it has been discontinued and will not be reinvented.

I'd recommend the 2019 BMW R1250GS (not the overweight GSA) these days for the shaft drive and the dealer support/parts network........ maybe after I have worn out my KTM 1290 SDGT.......still, gotta get over that flat wide engine ...... but it is heaps lighter than the Capo Rally's 270kg (240 for the GS) and the GS now makes 100kw vs Capo 92KW......;)

Ps (had to answer the phone......) On the other forum we were chatting about what Aprilia might be doing with the Capo and there was no new Capo at EICMA last week (there had been a rumored 900/950 Capo TP). It appears Piaggio rejected the factory's proposal and Aprilia is to concentrate on the hyper sport market with their new 215hp RSV4 for 2019......... I really liked the Rally, but if I was as far away from a great service agent as you might be, then I'd advise to keep looking....... all these high tech new bikes are becoming less home serviceable than ever - unless you have good skills/experience and access to systems like Guzzidiag for Aprilia's...... but even then the Capo12 needs special tooling for things like fork oil.

Best wishes....... I still miss my beautiful Capo12TP....... but I don't miss Piaggio/Aprilia. My KTM1290GT is excellent compensation though......:D

Great info, thx. Tough call on choice. The capo's like new are selling cheaper and cheaper. Just a great value. It's the high techiness of this animal that scares me. Thanks for everyone's input.

Cheers mate, I agree with you on the excessive amount of tech on bikes - and still no airconditioning! ;)
