15:42 sprockets are on now and what a difference!!! I can ride it 'round roundabouts now :)

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the standard gearing on my 07 milleR? Is it the same as my old 02 Mille?:dunno

15/44 is the way to go. Ive tried 14/42 and 16/44. This is MUCH better

Hi Sabre.

This won't work on an 07 RSVR the same as your 2000 - different standard gearing.

Just bought a new chain & sprockets (Tsubaki) and they've supplied 17-40, hope they're ok.

Sounds well over geared Mark (good for 181mph in top FFS :confused:confused), have a look on here

I'm 15:43 which is probably a bit front end light for two-up but would recommend you get the supplier to change the sprockets before you fit them and its too late.

Better tie Chris on with rope!!

Go nice and steady with him on..

Will put this set on in the morning, and see what difference it makes. Did a coast run last week, rode up to Lord Stones, then Redcar, some small coastal villages, Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby and home, noticed then how bad chain was..

cheers for that buddy
looks like that's the next thing to spend the hard earned on:thumbup

15/42 is fantastic for the lanes and short runs on the A roads but if you do long journeys then it can become rather a chore.

The front end is constantly trying to lift and powering out of bends is a gentle operation that must be done with precision.

However, I have gone back to my 15 tooth front sprocket after fitting a 16 tooth for the long run up the M1 to Griffs.

Bring on those lanes :doug

Out in the garage at 6 this morning..Got finished at 9 and straight out, done 300 miles today with the 17-40 combination, and fine for me..Still wants to lift the front away from lights, but easy cruising 90 mph at just under 5,000 rpm. Don't know how that compares with everyone elses?
