Hi Guys ,
How do I check the valve timing on my 04 tuono rsv r , as it is not starting , back firing & making a crunching sound when turning over ,,:confused
Can someone point me to its location, I'm pretty sure the little begger is at fault for my clutch problems. Bang it down the box and the rear wheel skips but give it the beans and it slips like buggery :confused
giday fellas, would anyone know the valve clearances for an 07, one of the boys has his engine out and thought he may as well do the valves whilst they are easy to get to
cheers bloodnut
Right i am new to the area:dunno can anyone recommend someone who can be relied on and is good with the beasts from italy that tend to want lots of TLC:inlove to complete a full service and check valve clearance on my 06 RSVR:inlove in the gosport area. :dunno:dunno would go to southern cross...
Hey guys,
So just checked my non return valve, and it returns both ways! I'm not wanting to wait for months on end for a replacement, so am looking around for a generic one, afterall, its only a simple valve. So far I have found these two. Which one do you think would suit best, if any? And if...
I have an 03 rsv, and (yet to have another look) am pretty sure it has twin plugs in each cylinder (spark plugs) yet I have read that this years model (03) is supposed to be single plug big valve heads. Can anyone shed any light? I'm just off to check it out now to confirm whether is single or...
I just also came across the thread below .is this what happened to my mille?
my rear piston is hitting the spark plugs while smashing both of them in. one of them about 4 to 5 mm and the other about 2 to 3 mm... the motor used to start with low oil pressure which was caused from a previous...
Decided that my so called slipper clutch was virtually non functional the other day so I decided to take it off and test it.
Sure enough I could blow through it both ways with ease.
Knowing full well that it was scrap anyhow I decided to dismantle it to see what had gone wrong, this is what I...
Mines got a 2000 small valve top end on it, so if i got a later big valve head, fitted some 57mm tb's and had it set up with my pc3, would i get more power, also, are there different cams available for these motors, eg fast road, or race etc?
Hey all, I'm a newbie here having just purchased my 2007 Tuono a few weeks ago. I've been wanting one for a couple of years and finally took the plunge. My question is bout the valve adjustment interval. In my manual it looks like they recommend one at the initial service (625 miles) and every...
Has anybody got one kicking about or know where i can get one :dunno
Nowhere round here has one and mine lets more wind out than i do after a night on the beer followed by a bhuna :biggrin
Thanks in advance
Ok, Just back from the dealer and the bike's first Valve clearnance check done, needed replacement of 3 shims on front cylinder. They say all looks Ok on the bike!!! :thumbup
I am looking to check my valve shims over the winter, the bike has done 46000miles and makes a bit of noise from the heads, it actually runs very well and has not had any problems in 5 years.
Could some of you experts give me an idea how diificult this job will be and any special tools I need +...
i bought a lightly wrecked 2002 rsv and i think its valves need adjusting,is this something a mecanicly inclined guy can do or is it better left to a shop?tia:dunno
This is a how to for those that are interested in doing this mod on 04 onwards bikes, i have done it on my track bike to allow more air and smoother air flow into the airbox, these bikes need as much as you can get in there, there will be some small gains regarding power, just don't ask me how...
Hi
I've heard that Aprilia has announced that RSVRs with serial number starting ZD4RR and later only need to have the valve clearances checked at 1000kms and then every 20000kms (mine's a '04 ZD4RR). However, the service centre at my local Aprilia dealer still seems to think that the valve...
