]Why does my owner's manual specify smaller valve clearances than the Aprilia service manual? And, which would I be better to go with? I heard somewhere that they use smaller clearances in the US. If so, why would that be? 2000 RSV MILLE
Swapped standard Tuono clutch master to RSVR's radial and now air bleed valve leaking a bit. I want to replace with a new one, but I cannot find specs anywhere. Does anyone know thread size of the bleeder? Is it 10 x 1.25? Cheers
I need to change 7 out of the 8 shims & went to my local Aprilia dealer & he wanted £12.50 each for them  how f**kin much, last time I did them he did an exchange service & only charged 2 quid each. So anyone know where to get these at a reasonable price or is there an alternative :dunno...
Hello all.
my bike is at 12k and ive been told the valve timing needs to be done, is this something I can do myself or can anyone recommend someone in south yorkshire who will complete the job competently. Is there anything else I should be doing too.
cheers all.

The story starts with coming home from a 2000mile trip across Germany whe the bike was brilliant and then to a trackday at snetterton where it promptly shat itsellf:banghead technically it dropped the exhaust valve on the front cylinder the bike had a full aprilia SH and had covered 9500k the...
Hi all,
Has anyone here done their own valve clearance checking for the 12,500 mile service? Any tips or things to look out for?
Also how easy is it to get hold of the right shims, if they needed replacing?
Cheers
Hi all, is it compulsory to get the valve clearances done on the rsv1000r 2006 model at the 12000 mile? I have had many bikes in all my years and never had it done on other bikes.
I was lead to believe that if the valves dont make an excessive ticking, leave them alone.
Any thoughts please...
Right, so just following the logical route to a conclusion here really, and with a view to understanding the possibilities and potential of mods......( I read posts a while back of gen2 heads on gen1 engines...soundz painful ! )
1) - Can the bigger valve heads be supplanted to the early small...
Hi All
I'm new here so just saying hello !
Came across this site looking for info on the exhaust valve of the Rsv4.Mine is stuck close and causing the SERVICE light to come on and wondered if anyone had any ideas as to best coarse of action I could take ? checked cables and all good and I've...
Ok guys,
Got a sticky relief valve by the look of it.
What i want to know is whats actually got to be done to get to it and how ling should it take?
Anything to watch out for?
Thanks in advance
Just wondering if anyone can point me to the correct part of the manual / procedure + clearances at TDC. Been looking through the manual, but I only seem to be able to find complete engine disassembly instructions rather than just checking in situ.
Cheers,
Andy
Hi guys, I am new to Aprilias but have had, and worked on bikes for er, too many years.
I bought a non running 2000 RSV Mille with what the owner thought was "a dropped exhaust valve, and no clutch pressure". Turns out the clutch release bearing disintegrated dropping balls all over the place...
Anybody successfully unhook exhaust valve without performing any other mods? Is it easy to do and does it induce any error engine codes?
I'd like to do this but don't wanna screw anything up.
Bit of an odd question, which exposes my lack of knowledge! but i am looking to boost power on my 2003 RSVR (Gen1). Big bore is not an option due to class rules, and I have done most of the more superficial mods (chip, balanced headers, PC3 and airbox underway). I plan to do the big valves and...
As the title says. This is the second one thats broke :angry. The rubber bit inside tears, poxy pieces of ****. Theyre obviously not up the the job. I dont blip the throttle downshifting so it gets used but it should be able to do its job without falling apart :jack. Im going to see if i can...
Hey folks I just checked the valve clearances on my recently purchaced track bike. A few of them are a bit tight and require adjusting. :angry
Question is- is it easy enough to do with the engine in or is it an engine out job?
It looks just about doable to me with the engine in, but has anyone...
